BlueJeans Outlook Add-in Deployment using SCCM 2012
System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) can install Blue Jeans Outlook Addin in two ways,
assuming the pre-requisites shown below are already installed at client system:-
- Using SCCM clinet
- Using Application catalog and sccm client
Pre- Requisites
Ensure that all the client systems are installed with Microsoft .Net client profile 4 and VS 2010
tools, without these pre-requisites, addin installation won t be successful. Below are the
Microsoft download links for these tools.
- .Net 4 client profile (32 & 64bit) can be found at

- Visual Studio 2010 tool can be found at

A. SCCM Configuration steps for intalling Addin with SCCM client
I. Create Application
1. Launch Software Library-Application management- Create Application under SCCM
configuration Manager
2. Import msi from network location which is shared with read access with everyone (Domain users)
3. Provide installation program as msiexec /i "Blue Jeans Outlook Add-in.msi" /q
- Check the box for Run installation program as 32-bit process on 64-bit clients
- Install behavior should be Install for user
4. This configuration should be successful
II. Distribute Content
1. BlueJeans prefers Addin distribution thorugh SCCM client Software center . Ensure that all of client
systems are installaed with SCCM client before distributing Addin
2. Select Blujeans outlook Addin from Application - Distribute Content
III. Deploy msi
1. Select Collection
i. Select BlueJeans Outlook Addin under application management , click Deploy under
sccm configuration manager
ii. Select Device collections and systems/users you want to install addin onto, under
collections menu
iii. Press Next
2. Select Distribution Point with Add menu to distribute BlueJeans Outlook Addin if not
selected earlier, else press Next
3. Select Deployment settings as required.
Action:- Install, Purpose-Required if you want addin to be installed without end user s action
Action:- Install, Purpose-Available if you want addin to be installed with end user s action
4. Select Scheduling and User experience as required
SCCM Client Side Settings :-
1. If Administrator has selected deployment setting with Purpose-Available, end user will see
following under sccm client. Once end user action Addin will get installed/uninstalled
2. Once SCCM client installs Addin user has to re-launch Outlook if its running during installation
3. If administrator keeps setting as Action:- Install, Purpose-Required, then No user action is
required and Bluejeans Outlook Addin will get installed automatically without user action.
B. SCCM Configuration Steps for installing Addin with Application catalog
1. Confgure Application catalog role at SCCM server
2. Access the catalog with valid URL under end user s system
3. Request Addin from Application catalog tab to sccm administrator
4. Submit the request to Administrator
5. End user can track the request status under My Application Requests tab
7. Once Administrator approves the Addin request, navigate to Application catalog tab and click
on INSTALL which would launch SCCM client to install Add-in (user should have SCCM client
installed)
8. Once Addin is installed, user has to re-launch Outlook to start using it.
