§ This multinational bank sought a hybrid cloud solution.
§ The bank wanted to improve agility, especially in digital transformation.
Need: § The team installed the Bluemix Local system in the bank’s data center and deployed three pilot solutions.
§ The team implemented a mobile solution for devices with StrongLoop, Node.js and NoSQL applications, including the MongoDB database and the IBM Cloudant® database as a service (DBaaS).
§ Next, the team deployed an application running the Java program in the back end with an application running JavaScript and AngularJS programs in the front end.
§ The team developed access to existing services by using the Bluemix Local solution to expose back-end systems.
Expected benefits:§ Improves agility§ Develops and deploys
innovative solutions for employees

Expected benefits:§ This financial company in North
America’s global integration platform (GIP) contains multiple SoftLayer®
points of deployment (PODs).
§ Each POD resides in an IBM facility and has three main components: IBM® DataPower®, IBM Integration Bus and IBM WebSphere® Cast Iron®
Cloud products. § When applications on the GIP
experience an outage, there is no way to quickly check the platform’s health when the monitoring team is away from the office.
§ Therefore, the organization sought a mobile solution to help monitor the GIP.
Need: Solution:§ The customer attended a
complimentary 2-day IBM Design Thinking workshop where event leaders designed a minimum viable product (MVP) to help the business determine the solution’s benefits and required investment.
§ The customer engaged the IBM Bluemix® Garage to implement a Bluemix platform.
§ The Garage team created a high-fidelity design to help the client visualize the MVP and the type of data available at a glance.
§ The IBM group also helped build a mobile solution, which monitors service outages, detects issues and provides analytics for the client’s GIP.
§ Monitors service outages and detects issues, even when away from the office
§ Increases insight into system data and analytics
