A must see for area rock fans!

Blue Sky Revival (BSR) fans will be treated to music the likes of The Allman Brothers Band, Marshall

Tucker Band, Cream, CCR, Bob Seger, Traffic and The Eagles to name a few.

BSR - the only band I know of that takes Southern rock seriously as a movement while going beyond the

genre to include a variety of rock songs from the era when guitar was king.

Although Blue Sky Revival is new to the music scene they have over 100 years of rock experience

between them.

BSR consists of five ingredients:

The first two are the Pierron Brothers, Jim and Mike. These cats have been rocking and singing together

since they were in diapers. Jim on bass lays out a groove so deep you can drive a truck through it, while

Brother Mike's blazin’ guitar treats your ears to a rock and roll rollercoaster ride.

On vocals, keys and guitar is Jeff Krueger who has rocked stages around the mid west for over 30 years.

His heavy grinding organ brings essential grit and soulful essence to the band’s performances.

Holding down the beat on drums is one of the world’s hardest-working drummers, Mike Rowland. He is on

and locked on for a ride down thunder road with a driving beat that will have you dancing from your head

to your soul.

Last but not least on lead vocals and guitar is Frank Childress. Frank has been playing guitar and singing

since he was old enough to open his mouth and pick up a pick. Frank’s growling vocal style matches the

rough and raw sound of his guitar, the gritty and raspy delivery will have you on your feet screaming for

more.

“Whiskey sippin’ rock and roll.”

That’s a pretty good way to put it. What other words do you use to describe the sound of Bob Seger

jamming with a couple of Allman Brothers? Or the power of the Who’s rhythm section playing with

that crazy wah-wah guitar sound of Robin Trower? Sure, Blue Sky Revival is a “new” band, but each

member has a ton of playing experience, having chalked up hundreds (probably more like thousands)

of gigs playing in bands throughout the Midwest.

The thing about these guys is they seem to really love what they do, which shows; from their unique

song selection, their cool arrangements (check out their extended dual guitar harmony solos on Dear

Mr. Fantasy!), to their beautiful musical gear and even their offbeat sense of humor. It’s clear that

these guys are having fun onstage…which tends to be contagious with an audience.

If Blue Sky Revival ever visits your town, I’d highly recommend grabbing a few of your friends and

stopping down to see them – you’ll have a blast.

I’d bet my sippin’ glass of whiskey on it.

Cheers,

Dave Weyenberg

Frank Childress – Lead vocals, electric & acoustic guitars, harmonica, mandolin Frank has been singing and playing guitar for over 30 years. Frank is from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula where he played in some of

the area’s top rated bands, and has shared the stage with national acts such as Sawyer Brown, Diamond Rio and Toby Keith among

many others. Frank’s musical influences range from rock, country to blues and classic R&B. Some of Frank’s favorites are Bob Seger,

Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jimi Hendrix and too many others to mention.

Mike “Mick” Pierron – Lead guitars, backing vocals Mike has been playing guitar for nearly 30 years, and is also from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He has played in some very popular

bands in the area – Power Play, White Lightning, The Taxidermists, Crazy Moose, Send Help and even the infamous Weasel Milk. In

addition to playing guitar for fun, Mike is a professional guitar instructor, teaching everything from basic soloing to advanced music

theory. Some of Mike’s favorites are King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Black Sabbath, Frank Zappa, Allman Brothers, Jeff Beck, Jimi

Hendrix, David Gilmour, Grateful Dead & Robin Trower.

Jim Pierron – electric and acoustic bass, lead & backing vocals, banjo Jim and his brother Mike started playing at quite an early age – Jim played in his first bar gig at the age of 15! Like most of the rest

of the band, Jim is from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and played with a few popular local bands and has shared billing with national

acts like Quiet Riot and Head East. Jim has played in an acoustic act for the last few years (singing & playing upright bass, guitar &

banjo) but now is enjoying rocking out full-on electric with Blue Sky Revival. Some of Jim’s favorites are NRBQ, the Grateful Dead,

Richard Thompson, Big Star, Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, Grand Funk Railroad & Badfinger.

Mike Rowland – Lead drums, percussion, lyricist Sometimes things come full circle. Mike, Jim and "Mick" started playing together when they were all teenagers and now have an

exciting opportunity to share the stage again. For the past several years Mike has recorded and performed with the bands Saturday

Morning and The Mulligans. With each band he had the good fortune to share the bill with great national acts like Pat Benatar, REO

Speedwagon, Night Ranger and many more as well as perform at numerous events throughout the Midwest including four

consecutive years at Milwaukee's Summerfest. Mike has also performed on several independent recordings including The Mulligans'

debut, "Real Virtuality" and was featured in Modern Drummer Magazine in September, 2000.

Jeff Krueger – Keyboards, organ, acoustic & electric guitars, lead & backing vocals Starting his musical career as a drummer, Jeff was playing bar gigs at 17 years old. His college years were spent drumming with

various cover and original rock bands playing all over Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Illinois. Spending five years in Colorado

brought a switch to guitar and keyboards as well as a change in musical direction. Songwriting and recording became Jeff’s focus for

many years. In recent years, Jeff has had the privilege of playing with some of the finest musicians in the Fox Valley. Over the years,

the bands Jeff has played with have opened for REO Speedwagon, Styx, Cheap Trick, Poco and America. These latter two bands along

with Firefall, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Led Zeppelin, Kansas, Yes, Rennaissance and the Allman Brothers have all played a part in

Jeff’s musical direction.
