BME Student Center The Student Center was created to expand the range of services provided for the students, and to support
the work of the Student Union. It consists of the Támpont Office, specialized in academic advising, the
Career Office, helping in career-planning and job-hunting, and the Cultural Office, managing cultural
programs.
Támpont Office is the name of the office in the Student Center, which is dealing with academic advising, international scholarships, students with disabilities, psychological counseling and allowances and fees. Our goal is to create a safe environment for the prospective and current students by creating and
maintaining different channels of information for them (including: website, newsletter, and others)
combined with help in unique problematic situations, and several free services.
Academic advising The majority of students see us with academic problems. Sometimes they are unsure and can’t decide
who to turn to, where to start the solution. We await you with up-to-date information but in case we don’t
know the answer, we will find it within a short time or let you know which organizational unit is
competent in your matter.
We advise you to look at our „Csatlakozó 2012” publication in which you can
find other important information and advice essential for the start of your
academic career. IMPORTANT! Because of the ongoing legal changes, the
information in our publication can change until September of 2012. Check
www.hirdeto.bme.hu for details.
Támpont website If it’s more comfortable for you then visit our website that always contains up-to-date information:
http://www.tampont.bme.hu. There you will find the academic and financial regulations, and current
procedures. In case you can’t find the answer you are looking for, our colleagues are ready to assist you in
person, via e-mail or over the phone.
Támpont News, Támpont Newsletter Arriving at our website (http://www.tampont.bme.hu/) you will find the Támpont News, an electronic
bulletin board with the latest news about academics, fees, scholarships, international scholarships. If you
would like to get these news in your mailbox, then sign up for our Newsletter.
You can find all the information about the newsletter on the http://www.tampont.bme.hu/ website,

Psychological counseling Everyone may have a period in their life when some help can be useful. If you have lifestyle, family,
relationship, psychological, sexual, or other problems, that have been causing difficulties for a long time,
or have emerged recently, then come and see us. After arranging an appointment, you have the chance to
talk to our psychologist. You can also arrange an appointment if you simply wish to know yourself better.
A number different tests (personality, IQ, etc.) can help you in this, these can be evaluated here. Our
psychologist handles all your personal information with discretion.

present themselves in a direct, student-friendly manner, with specially assorted portfolio of traineeships
and job offers for students. The BME Job Fair is the largest event of its kind, where thousands of

Preparation Days (September 24 – October 12, 2012) In the weeks prior to the Job Fair we organize programs that can help you to be confident and prepared
when meeting the companies.
It is important that as a future employee, you have defined goals and ideas, usable language skills, know
the tricks of CV writing, and be well-prepared for unexpected interview questions. This is why since
1995, the Job Fair is preceded with a three-week-long program, the Preparation Days, where we – and our
partners – do our best to get you ready for the difficulties of job hunting.
If you can’t attend any of the programs on the Preparation Days, then you should look for the Preparation
Level (1st floor of building K) during the Job Fair , where you can get immediate answers to your
questions about job searching.

Alumni Organization sends a publication every spring to the members of the Organization, the current
students, and all alumni graduated after 1997. Our publication is released in 16500 copies and is available
for download from the Student Center website.

audience (freshmen, recent graduates, companies) thus we prepare surveys annually in the following
