About BNMIT
BNM Institute of Technology (BNMIT) was established in the year 2001 under the aegis of BNM Charities. The institute offers undergraduate programs in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and postgraduate programs in VLSI & Embedded Systems, Computer Science Engineering and MBA. BNMIT is one of the highly-rated engineering colleges under VTU in Karnataka with excellent results in all branches of Engineering, MBA & M.Tech with more than 90% students getting First Class with Distinction.
BNMIT is accredited as Grade A Institution by NAAC. All UG branches – CSE, ECE, EEE, ISE and Mech.E are accredited by NBA for the academic years 2018-19 to 2020-21 & valid up to 30.06.2021. The Institute is ranked 156 by National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development.
BNMIT is one of the few Institutes in Karnataka to receive a grant of 2.87 Crores for the New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (New Gen IEDC) from the Department of Science and Technology (DST).
The Department of Information Science and Engineering was established in the year 2001 with an intake of sixty students. Since its inception, the department has forged a path of technical excellence and innovative teaching methods. The Department is having highly qualified, research-oriented teaching staff, committed to instill moral values among students, in addition to providing

cutting edge technical knowledge. The department has well equipped laboratories with state of the art computational facilities.
The Department regularly organizes technical talks, workshops and arranging industry visits to nurture the core competencies of the students. The students in the Department are multifaceted, securing ranks in VTU examinations in addition to excelling in technical, sports and cultural competitions. The Department is accredited by NBA in 2018 for a period of three years from the academic year 2018-19 to 2020-21. The Department is associated with professional bodies' viz. Computer Society of India (CSI), Institution of Engineers (IE), Indian Society for Technical Education and Board for IT Education Standards (BITES).
The institutions of higher learning in India are
facing crucial challenge in creating, nurturing and
maintaining the level of quality research. The need
of the hour is to develop a sound methodological
base for research among the budding educationists
and researchers to cope up with future challenges. A
good research methodology is a key to sound
research output. To operationalize this vision, there
is need to train, reorient and reactivate the research
scholars on research methodology.
The current workshop is an effort to enrich the
Research scholars on research methodologies that
focus mainly on design aspects, hands on training
and report writing tools. More specifically, the
formulation of research problem, research
hypothesis and testing of hypothesis. It also
provides the knowledge for writing manuscripts,

conducting literature review, its review process,
data collection methods, selection of appropriate
parametric or non-parametric statistical methods
for analyzing data.

the research problem and to identify
suitable approach to solve the problem.
?To impart capabilities for formulation and
testing of hypothesis based on the nature of
research.
?To comprehend appropriateness of
statistical software packages for analyzing
research data.
?To enable the participants to understand
report writing and writing research
proposals.
Faculty members of all disciplines who are
interested in Research and Innovations can attend
the FDP. Number of participants is limited to 50
and registration will be done on first come first
serve basis.
