The Silver Center is celebrating its’ 25th anniversary this year and we want to let the community know how grateful we are for their support. We have certainly enjoyed her energy and enthusiasm, great ideas, and overall joyful attitude. Her wonderful husband, Bill, who has volunteered at the center for years organizing and working at the Friday night dances, has rejoined the volunteer team after a while of resting, and we couldn’t be happier. With all of these new volunteers we have been getting as well, we can’t think of a better way to show our appreciation than a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. April is volunteer appreciation month. April 17 from 5PM - 7PM in Sagabiel Hall, we will have our appreciation dinner and recognition event. We would like for all of our volunteers to come and enjoy the evening. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we are sure to make way more food than we can eat. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you to each and every one of you. Your time is so very valuable and it really seems that a thank you isn’t enough. I especially thank you for putting a smile on my face and in my heart each and every day. God bless you all. Hello From the Front Office!

Well I made it!!! It's officially been a year since I steppedup to take over the realm of executive director at the SilverCenter. Some days and weeks have been morechallenging than others, but I've got to say this has been afabulous year for me. I've made so many friends andacquaintances, and I've grown in my understanding of howvery important the Silver Center is to our community. AsI sit here writing this article, God puts an old time songinto my head and heart. Think back (and it is many yearsback) to a gentleman named Wynn Stewart. He had a songthat is in my head and in my heart today. "It's such apretty world today... look at the sunshine... today andevery day since I met you!" If you've heard this songbefore, you'll be singing it the rest of the day!

We have some absolutely wonderful news at the center toshare as we grow and evolve. Many of you may havenoticed on the front page that we have some new staff!Ms. Beth Gerhardt has taken over the apron strings in ourkitchen and many of you will know her as Henry Hill'sdaughter and those of you that don't know her will grow tolove her! This sweet lady bakes from scratch. None ofmy clothes will ever fit the same! If you haven't been inlately, please stop by for lunch and see the new menu andthe luscious homemade desserts as you welcome Beth toour staff. In our Catering department and kitchen you willbe seeing a lot more of Dorothy Funderberg! She hasaccepted the roll of Catering Coordinator to help us growour business and also to put smiles on your faces. She willdo an excellent job of doing both! Another new employeethat you will all know is Ms. Pam Davis. Many of you willremember her from working in the Navarro school districtand others know her as Bill Davis' wife. Pam is going tobe a wonderful addition to the front office and she islooking forward to getting to know all of you. We have alot of opportunities for volunteering at the center and Pamwill be calling on you for your help. Please considerblessing us with an hour or two of your time.Last but not least... we have puppies! My sweet girl'Dallas' had a litter of AKC English bulldogs and you arewelcome to stop by my office and visit with the littlefamily. Spring has sprung! The flowersare blooming and the grass is green. Ihope to see you at the Silver Center soon!!!
