Work Experience:

Due to domestic violence I found my self unexpectedly homeless though I wasconsidered upper middle class based on my income, profession and social status. What I needed immediately was safe, clean and secure housing without some ofthe typical requirements (i.e. first/last month's rent, security deposit)- and I couldfind none. It took approximately 24 months before my life became stable again andI was able to find housing on conventional terms- and I considered myself fortunatebecause I had full employment, friends and family to support me. However thereare many who have none of the above- making them extremely vulnerable tohomelessness due to single events (i.e. sudden loss of a job, fire, foreclosure, divorce) and ideally this should not be. Loudoun is a county of resources, charityand opportunity. I look forward to working together to develop relationships, partnerships and solutions that provide housing security to our most vulnerablepopulation.
