Board Reporter
November 2019
From the President
Beth Riggins 2019 President
Thanks to everyone that took the time to at-tend Affiliate Appreciation Night a few weeks ago. Everyone enjoyed the burritos and other Mexican foods cooked by Barb Stock-well & Dave Schulz. And I also had several positive comments about the new program format. If you missed it, each affiliate was asked to provide information about a topic and answer a few questions. Many people told me it was a very informative evening. Several gas cards were given away as well as an enve-lope of cash and a folding/bag/camp chair. John & Pat Wheeler with Preferred Land Ti-tle won the drawing for a Free 2020 LOBR Affiliate Membership. I look forward to seeing many of you at the December Installation/Christmas Party on Friday December 6th. The theme for the evening will be “Your Favorite Holiday Movie”. Dress as your favorite character, bring a me-mento, sing a song or ??? Dave’s famous La-sagna plus other Italian food will be served. Be sure to get out and vote on November 5th. Whether you are for or against the small in-crease in lodging tax that will go towards building a Soccer Complex, you should exer-cise your right to vote. Missouri Realtors® approved an Issues Mobilization Grant for $5000 to help promote new growth in the Lake Area during the Spring and Fall months. ($2500 on behalf of LOBR and $2500 on be-half of BDAR). Hopefully you have taken some time to read the details or attend some
of the meetings around the Lake area to make an educated decision about this vote. Have you ever looked at the many benefits you get from being a member of NAR? Check out the deals on Dell computers, Jeep & Chrysler car purchases and vehicle leasing, Hertz car rental, health insurance and many other benefits. Read it over sometime. https://www.nar.realtor/realtor-benefits-program I’m not sure how many of you have started the Commitment to Excellence, C2EX but I do know only a few have completed it. Take some time to learn something new and use the tools provided by NAR. Complete the Nation-al Association of REALTORS® Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) by December 31, 2019, for a chance to win a $2,500 travel voucher*! https://www.c2ex.realtor/ *The $2,500 travel voucher may be used to pay for travel costs such as flights, lodging, etc. to a destina-tion of your choice. Must be a Missouri REALTOR® in good standing to participate.
Show your Pride. Keep our West Side Alive. VOLUNTEER! Beth Riggins

The Board of Directors only had 2 motions come before it at this meeting. One was to approve the Budget for 2020 and the other was to approve the Strategic Plan for 2020-2022. Both motions passed. I’ve attached (link below) the Strat Plan, it’s pared down a very user friendly.
I’ve also attached (link below) the Minutes from the meeting so you can read the CEO’s report and the President’s Report.
We had an excellent national speaker at the Open Session, Orlando Bowen. He was motivational and inspiring. He is an ex-national football player and if you ever get the chance to hear him speak, take it, you won’t be disappointed.
