BOARDING NEWSLETTER
OCTOBER 2019
Despite the holidays this month, boarders have been a busy
bunch and boarding has seen much activity this month.
To mark the occasion of
Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd
October and raise awareness
on the importance of
cleanliness, the grade 11
boarder girls proposed,
organized and carried out a
successful cleanup drive in
and around Handenahalli
Village nearby our school.
We are proud of you!!
The Royal Thai Consulate – General in Chennai organized a
Thai Community Day for the Thais in Bangalore. Our Thai
boarders represented the event at Christ University and enjoyed
socializing with their community students.
Boarders volunteered for the blood donation camp for teachers
and students organized by the infirmary team with the help of
blood bank, Sagar Hospital, Jayanagar. The students were
involved in issue of donor certificate, providing refreshments to
the donors, boosting the morale of anxious donors.
Our two grade 12 students also donated blood – Aryaman
Verma and Yogeshwar Gunturu.
School within the school - We started gardening project in
Handenahalli school adopted by the boarding. We cleaned and
levelled the plot of land.
School within the school – Personalized attention continued in
full steam for grade 9 and above students and students involved
actively and sincerely in the opportunity on offer.
Bhavyata from Grade 11 participated in the Mt. Everest Base
Camp (5357M) and Mt. Kala Patthar Summit (5643M), Nepal.
Kudos!!
During the long weekend between 5th Oct and 8th October on
account of Dusshera, we planned 2 days trip within Bangalore.
The first trip was to Wonderla Amusement and Water Park.
Students had loads of fun, adventurous dry rides and amazing
water rides.
The second trip was sumptuous special dinner at Barbeque
Nation, Sarjapura Road.
The boarding houses were decorated with colourful rangolis to
mark the festival of Dushhera, the victory of good over the evil.
Dusserah Greetings - “Only education can empower an individual to win over the evils of society.”
And thereby bring peace and prosperity in our lives.
School within the school: Deep reading- Boarders finished
reading the 1st book “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind”. Well
done students!! for such creative reflections in the Reading
Journal of the book.
They have started
with the 2nd book
“Jonathon Living
Seagull” for the month of October.
Our boarders also took initiative in the community kitchen
during the long weekend and helped in food distribution as well.
We are proud of you boys!!
School within the school – Boarding Orchestra continues in full
enthusiasm and the participants are practising various genre
songs- EI condor pass and Ode to Joy by Beethoven. We look
forward them to perform well in the orchestra.
The “Green Heart” gardening project saw boarders making the
garden look more beautiful by coloring the fence around. The
seeds are sprouted and we are waiting to harvest the groundnut
plants. Keep patience students, your efforts are going to reap and
reward soon.
Boarders enjoyed the Diwali celebration. It started with the
lighting of the lamp by our respected Principal Mrs. Sarojini
Rao, Vice Principal Ms. Aditi Pant and Head of Boarding Mr.
Ragaby. This was followed by a short cultural programme and
socials night.
The month ended with the mega sporting event –Eagle Cup
2019-20 from 22nd to 24th October. Kudos to all the boarders
involved in the organizing of the event, the late night
preparations and month long efforts and every single child who
participated!! Their participation in the various events was
evident and noteworthy; made all of us proud.
