Dr. Robert “Bob” Baginski was appointed the senior vice president of global marketing and communications in May 2006 to lead Satyam’s marketing, communications, and branding initiatives worldwide. Prior to joining Satyam, Dr. Baginski served as global director of integrated marketing for Accenture’s business consulting division, where he led marketing and communications for all of the company’s business consulting practices. Before that, he held several other marketing, communications, and business development leadership posts, including partner and director of marketing for CSC’s Consulting Group. At Accenture, under Dr. Baginski’s leadership, the consulting business—and specific horizontals such as supply chain, human performance, customer relationship management, and enterprise solutions—routinely ranked number one in market reputation. He also led the company’s innovative thought leadership marketing and credentials programs, two significant company assets. While at CSC, Baginski helped drive revenue growth above industry norms for years; was a charter member of the CSC Marketing Board; helped develop the company’s business development framework; and managed the company’s flagship marketing program, CSC Exchange. Dr. Baginski serves on the Board of Advisers of the Information Technology Services Marketing Association (ITSMA). Earlier in his career, he held marketing and communications management positions at Cleveland Consulting Associates, Ernst & Whinney, a global manufacturer, and a regional law firm. Dr. Robert “Bob” Baginski was appointed the senior vice president of global marketing and communications in May 2006 to lead Satyam’s marketing, communications, and branding initiatives worldwide.

Prior to joining Satyam, Dr. Baginski served as global director of integrated marketing for Accenture’s business consulting division, where he led marketing and communications for all of the company’s business consulting practices. Before that, he held several other marketing, communications, and business development leadership posts, including partner and director of marketing for CSC’s Consulting Group.

Mr. Jayan Bhuyan is CEO, India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) & Deputy Director General, Confederation of Indian Industry. He was educated at St. Stephens College, University of Delhi, where he did is Economics (Hons) for his graduation. He then went on to complete his Masters in History. He joined the Confederation in 1975. Mr. Bhuyan has held several positions at CII. He was in charge of CII operations in the United Kingdom for two years and was stationed in London. Neelam Deo is currently the Consul General of India. Mrs. Deo received her Master’s degree from Delhi School of Economics and in 1975, joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1975. During her time in the Indian Foreign Service, her assignments include various posts in Rome, Bangkok, and Washington. Mrs. Deo has also served as Ambassador in Copenhagen and Abidjan with concurrent accreditation to Sierra Leone, Guinea and Niger. Ruby Roy Dholakia is Professor of Marketing and E-Commerce in the College of Business Administration, The University of Rhode Island. She is also the Founder-Director of RITIM, (Research Institute for Telecommunications and Information Marketing). She started her academic career at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta India and has been a visiting faculty at several academic institutions in India, Japan, Finland and Bangladesh. Michael Ego has served as Associate Vice Provost at the University of Connecticut, Stamford Campus, and Professor of Family Studies, since January 2005. Prior to joining the University of Connecticut, he served as Dean of the College of Applied Sciences and Arts at San Jose State University (California). Subhash C. Jain, Ph D. is Professor of Marketing, Director of the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) and Director of the GE Global Learning Center (GEGLC) at the University of Connecticut, School of Business. His teaching, consulting and research activities include marketing strategy and multinational marketing. Mr. Johari was born in Varanasi and raised in Bombay, India. He earned his Bachelors degree in Commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Bombay and Degree in Law (LLB) from Bombay University. Mr. Johari joined his family diamond business Dauji & Co. Bombay after graduating. He came to US in 1980 and started his diamond trading company, Dow Gems Inc. in New York. He started jewelry manufacturing in 1993 as Kubér Mfg Inc. He also set up a jewelry manufacturing factory in SEEPZ, Bombay under the name of Bella Jewellery. He has been active in the Association of Indians in America ( AIA ), New York and has served as secretary in the past. He has served as the President of IDCA (Indian Diamond and Colorstone Association, New York) from 2003 to 2005. He has been active in the organization since 15 years. He was also a Co-chairman on DISC (Diamond Industry Steering Committee), a national umbrella trade organization representing the various segments of the jewelry industry in the USA. He serves as a board member on the Jewelers for Children, an industry charitable organization which has invested over $23 million since 1999 in special programs to reach out to children whose lives have been devastated by catastrophic illness or life-threatening abuse and neglect.

Recently, Mr. Johari became the first person of Indian origin to be elected to the Board of the Diamond Dealers Club, New York. This is a 75 year old trading bourse which has about 2300 members and is affiliated with the World Federation of Diamond Bourses.

Based in Hartford, CT, Solomon heads the Strategic Business Initiatives division of Infotech Enterprises America and is also responsible for the business relationship with United Technologies Corporation – currently Infotech’s flagship account. He has over thirty years of international management experience in the IT industry, eleven of them as an entrepreneur. Ajay K. Kohli is the Isaac Stiles Hopkins Chair in Marketing at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. He has previously taught at the Harvard Business School and The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Kohli’s research focuses on market orientation, marketing strategy, sales management, and industrial marketing. His research appears in several journals including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Harvard Business Review, and Sloan Management Review. He has received several research awards, including the Alpha Kappa Psi award and the inaugural Sheth Foundation /JM award. Thomson ISI lists him among the 100 most cited scientists in Economics and Business during the 1993-2003 decade. Rajeev Kohli is a Professor in the Marketing Division of the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University. He is interested in studying how new technologies are developed and used by consumers; how technologies for personalization can be used to improve the efficacy of online search; how mathematical models can be used to study and predict the manner in which consumers make decisions; and how predictions of consumer preferences can be used for designing new products. He teaches courses on New Product Development, Marketing Management, and Business in India to MBA and Executive MBA students, and a course on Mathematical Models in Marketing to PhD students. V. Kumar (VK) is the ING Chair Professor, and Executive Director, ING Center for Financial Services in the School of Business, University of Connecticut. He has been recognized with over 20 teaching and research excellence awards including the Paul H Root Award twice for the paper published in the Journal of Marketing that best contributes to the practice of Marketing, and the Don Lehmann Award twice for the best paper published in the Journal of Marketing/Journal of Marketing Research over a two year period. Recently, one of his papers in Forecasting won the Outstanding Paper Award from the International Institute of Forecasters. C.N. (Madhu) Madhusudan is an accomplished executive whose expertise areas include launching new businesses, turnaround management, outsourcing, strategic investments, and acquisitions. As one of the early members of the team that built NIIT, he held key roles in India prior to relocating to the United States to build NIIT’s first overseas presence for its outsourcing businesses. Starting out as an entrepreneurial one-man branch operation, he launched three businesses of NIIT – software services, technology based training products and technology based training services. He established NIIT’s US subsidiary in 1994 and managed its growth as President and Chief Operating Officer until 1999. As President, NIIT Ventures, Madhu leads new venture investment initiatives aimed at accelerating NIIT’s outsourcing business growth through strategic investments and acquisitions. C.N.(Madhu) Madhusudan NIIT India

Murali K. Mantrala is Sam. M. Walton Distinguished Professor of Marketing at the University of Missouri, Columbia and an honorary visiting professor of Loughborough University, UK. Previously, he was J.C. Penney Associate Professor of marketing at the University of Florida, Gainesville. He has also been a visiting professor of marketing at the graduate business schools of University of Chicago, Duke, Washington-St. Louis, Vanderbilt, Rutgers and Columbia Universities. Murali holds a PhD in Marketing from Northwestern University, a PGDM from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (11th Batch), and an MBA from the University of Minnesota. In the late ‘70s, Murali worked for four years as a Sales Executive in Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, Bombay, and was regional sales manager in Tamil Nadu in 1978-80. His research interests fall in the areas of retailing, advertising and sales force management. He has published a number of papers on these topics in the leading academic Marketing journals and serves on the editorial board of Marketing Science and the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management. He is Co-Editor of Retailing in the 21st Century: Current and Emerging Trends (Springer 2006) and is currently engaged in research related to the development of organized Retailing and Retail Brands in India and China. In the last two years, Murali has lectured on these and related topics at Metro AG in Europe, and the business schools of the University of Hyderabad, S.P. Ravindra “Ravi” Marwaha was named General Manager, IBM Global Business Partners on October 5, 2006. Ravi was most recently President of Asia Pacific and Senior Vice President of Lenovo Group. In this position, he was responsible for all customer-facing business in the Asia Pacific region, including sales, marketing, operations and service and support, in addition to full profit and loss responsibility. Prior to joining Lenovo in April 2005, he held a variety of senior leadership positions at IBM, including Vice President of worldwide sales for IBM’s Personal Systems Group (2003-2005) and previously, General Manager for the Personal Computing Division, covering the Asia Pacific region (1999-2003). Ravi joined IBM in his native India in 1968. He was General Manager of IBM India from 1996-1999. Professor Winer has been a visiting faculty member at M.I.T., Stanford University, Cranfield School of Management (U.K.), the Helsinki School of Economics, the University of Tokyo, École Nationale des Ponts et Chausées, and Henley Management College (U.K.). He has written three books, Marketing Management, Analysis for Marketing Planning and Product Management, and a research monograph, Pricing. He has authored over 60 papers in marketing on a variety of topics including consumer choice, marketing research methodology, marketing planning, advertising, and pricing. Professor Winer has served two terms as the editor of the Journal of Marketing Research, he is the past co-editor of Journal of Interactive Marketing, he is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Research in Marketing, he is the co-editor of the Review of Marketing Science, and he is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Marketing Research, and Marketing Science. He has participated in executive education programs around the world and is currently an advisor to a number of startup companies.

In the late 1990's, Ram established operations in the U.S. working for Merck, Parke-Davis, and Amgen. In 2000, Ram formed an IT consulting firm where his vision to build a world-class data warehousing and business intelligence practice for the bio-pharmaceutical and insurance industries began to unfold. Ram's consulting practice soon expanded to generate ideas on building product lines and professional services to support the demand for an expansive regulatory-compliant life sciences product portfolio. Ram holds an Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
