Bridgette Allan and Bob Sedergreen’s association goes way back to the exciting eighties where Bob presented the long running show Six of The Best and he knew to include Bridgette in the show because of her hypnotic presence, her exotic stylings and above all her ability to swing. Playing alongside Bob n Bridgette was the bassist Annette Yates. Classed at the time as viby and propulsive. Annette is a driving and inspirational bassist whose personality is a perfect match for Bob n Bridgette’s repertoire and style. Marshall Clark joined the group on drums during a long residency at Johns Jazz Club .
A forceful and dynamic presence at the drum kit Marshall generated not just time but creative musical conversation that totally complimented the musicality of the group. Well understood how. This will be a night of sophistication, balance with dynamic strength and lots of smiles . No emojis required!!!

Jazz piano legend Bob Sedergreen, drummer Sonja Horbelt and bassist Ivan Rosa are a tight and empathetic rhythm section having performed together for over two decades including a residency at Il Primo restaurant in Carlton followed by the release of their definitive recording , ‘The First One’. All three are involved in education and teach at a plethora of Melbourne schools. Ivan’s cousin Oscar Rosa is a fine guitarist and singer, led a band The Hottentots playing a commercial brand of jazz and blues inspired music. The Hottentots are a very successful band performing at many venues including concerts at Cruden Farm for Dame Elizabeth Murdoch. Saluting the great pianists/composers from Earl ‘Fatha’ Hines to Keith Jarrett. Jazz is a litany of great pianists Fats Waller and Earl Hines in the thirties, Duke Ellington in the forties and fifties, Les McCann and Bobby Timmins in the sixties. The big three, Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul and Chick Corea in the seventies as well as a few other surprises. Come on this musical journey with legendary pianist Bob Sedergreen whose career now spans sixty years of hard driving jazz of all genres.
Joining Bob for this musical tour will be bassist Jon Chidgey and drummer Sam Young, who for many year played alongside Bob in the Stonnington Gardens Jazz Ensemble. Their empathy will be apparent to all.
A must see for lovers of jazz piano - a light-hearted fun romp.

Present a night of free blowing, high-energy straight-ahead jazz with an occasional French touch. The band consists of freakish bass trombonist Adrian Sherriff who has toured both nationally and internationally. Mal Sedergreen, deep and soulful saxophonist, Mal has toured with legendary Bluesman, Jimmy Witherspoon and has played alongside David Sanborn. Talk of the town bassist, the tireless and brilliant Gareth Hill and the propulsive rhythm machine, Mark Voogd. Bob Sedergreen on piano is regarded as a national treasure and has performed in concert with Dizzy Gillespie, Milt Jackson and Phil Woods. This performance will include a multiplicity of jazz genres. Don’t miss a night of music making by this star studded ensemble.
