Best  of  the  Bay  Merchandise  for  Sale  in  December!  We  will  be  selling  our  2015-­‐16  Best  of  the  Bay  t-­‐shirt  as  well  as  sunglasses  and  pencils  at  IC  Day  on  December  5th.

Confirm  Your  Appraisers  NOW!  

Do  not  wait  until  December  to  get  commitments  from  parents  and  friends  to  appraise  for  your  team.    

Each  competitive  team  needs  3  roles  filled:  EITHER  2  appraisers  AND  1  volunteer  OR  1  appraiser  AND  1  staff  member,  AND  1  volunteer.  Rising  Star  teams  need  1  appraiser  OR  1  staff  member,  AND  1  volunteer.  These  roles  are  vital  to  have  a  successful  tournament,  and  they  are  enjoyable!      

‘Staff  Member’  –  takes  a  role  to  help  run  the  tournament.  See  the  list  posted  on  the  Best  of  the  Bay  website  under  “Tournament”  and  email  Judy  ([email protected])  if  you  have  someone  that  wants  a  specific  staff  job.    

‘Appraisers’  –  judge  teams  on  tournament  day.  • 1  full  day  of  training  and  

appraise  on  tournament  day  • Must  be  over  18  • Competitive  teams  going  on  to  

the  State  tournament  must  provide  1  trained  and  experienced  appraiser.    

   ‘Volunteer’  –  3  hour  task,  on  or  before  Tournament  Day.    

Appraiser  Training  is  on  January  30,  2015  at  Foothill  High  School  in  Pleasanton.  This  is  an  all-­‐day  training  for  new  appraisers,  or  half-­‐day  for  experienced  appraisers.    

*NEW*    Regional  Tournament  registration  is  not  complete  until  appraisers  and  volunteers  have  accepted  their  positions.  You  risk  paying  late  registration  fees  if  they  are  not  in  place.  DO  NOT  WAIT!  

IMPORTANT  Consent  Forms  Due  Dec.  5th  

Every participating Destination Imagination team member, team manager or team volunteer must have a participation waiver signed and on-file before tournament day. Signed, hard-copy forms for our Best of the Bay region are due by IC Day, December 5. Please BRING THEM WITH YOU.

The forms are on our website: http://www.caldi.org/regions/bestofthebayregion/?page_id=66. For team members under 18, print and sign the Parental Consent Form. For any volunteer 18 or over, print and sign the General Release Form.

Regional  Tournament    Saturday  February  13,  2016  at  Valley  Christian  Schools,  Dublin,  CA  

! To  register  for  the  Tournament,  first  you  must  register  at  Caldi.org  ! Create  a  Log-­‐In  (use  the  same  as  IDODI.org  Log-­‐In).  ! Complete  the  ‘Code  of  Conduct’  ! Register  all:  TM  details,  challenge,  level,  appraisers,  volunteers,  team  

members.  (It  is  auto  saved)  

! When  you  submit  appraiser  and  volunteer  details,  an  email  will  be  sent  asking  them  to  register.  

! Teams  CANNOT  PAY  or  COMPLETE  registration  for  the  Best  of  Bay  Tournament  until  APPRAISERS  &  VOLUNTEERS  have  accepted  their  positions  and  registered.  

WANTED:  We  still  have  some  tournament  Staff  Positions  available.  If  you  have  a  team  volunteer  that  would  like  one  of  these  positions,  please  check  the  website  and  email  Judy  Lawrie  ([email protected]):
