PRINCIPAL BOTTOMS WILL RIDE A MECHANICAL BULL! - NOV 16

Our biggest and most important fundraiser of the year! Our goal is to raise $55,000 to pay for all PTO Programs, extra educational materials, curriculum enhancement supplies, technology needs, grade level supplies and capital improvements.

We need YOU!

Help us provide the many programs enjoyed by our students including additional materials to enhance learning in our classrooms, anti-bullying education, character development, Science Discovery Zone, leveled book room, Write Score program, and Young Authors to name just a few! We need your help with the Bobcat Blast. These programs are made possible through PTO volunteers but paid for through school fundraising events. These expenses are not funded by the county so we need to provide for these on our own…and we do - thanks to the support from our parents, extended families and community businesses!

Frequently asked questions

What is the Bobcat Blast? This is a fundraising event where the children will get donations from family, friends, neighbors and businesses and then participate in a fun run!

When is the Bobcat Blast event and can parents and/or family members attend?Rain or shine, The Bobcat Blast is scheduled for Thursday, Nov 12th. The children will participate during their class’ “specials” time. Parents are invited to attend and support the students!

This year, BFES is launching a school and community wide initiative called #BEKIND. Because of this exciting initiative, the yearly Bobcat Blast T-shirt will proudly display the #BEKIND message on the front. We encourage all Bobcats and parents to wear their T-shirts proudly every where they go throughout the whole year to show that BFES is committed to the #BEKIND movement!

Who can participate? ALL BOBCATS are encouraged to participate! Walk, run, skip, dance - any speed is a good speed! The point is to have fun and help support all the fun programs/activities that we love about our school.

How is this fundraiser different from others? This fundraiser reaches out to all of our family, friends and community. BFES will keep 100% of the PROFITS! It raises money while giving the children a fun time to go out and exercise. We will play music, have blow-up sky dancers, let the kids run through a tunnel, etc. Parents can come out to cheer on the kids and make the event even more fun and festive!

How much should my child try to get in donations? AS MUCH AS THEY CAN!!! As stated on page one, our school must raise every dollar needed to fund the school’s wish list of additional educational materials and experiences planned for our children this 2015-16 year. This means ALL PTO programs, extra educational materials and programs, technology and capital improvements among many other things. We are looking to raise $55,000 of the approximately $85,000 needed for the 2015-16 year through this Bobcat Blast.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE!!! IF each child gets (4) $35 donations (at least $140), then we will blow this year’s fundraising goal out of the water. That’s IF ALL BFES children participate. We realize that every family has a different financial situation and hope that we will all combine our resources and make every effort to ask for donations and make our goals a reality. When one family has limits, perhaps another will surpass their individual goal and help out the bottom line. Family, friends, and businesses, can donate any amount that is comfortable. Children can reach out to as many supporters as they are motivated to contact!

Each child will be sent home with a donation collection envelope and T-shirt with instructions after the Bobcat Blast Pep Rally on October 30th. If you have multiple children, please do not combine donations in one envelope. We prefer to have each child keep track of their own donations so they can earn their prizes.

How do we (and friends & family) donate online? Go on-line to www.bobcatfund.org and make your donation to The Bobcat Fund that way. This method will generate an electronic receipt for tax purposes. The Bobcat Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax-deductible. Your child MUST present a copy of the receipt to claim prizes at school, so please send them with a copy in their collection envelope.

To whom do I write the donation checks? All checks are written out to “The Bobcat Fund”. If a donation has been sent to you combining multiple children in one check, please write each child’s full name, teacher name and grade along with their designated amount and put a note on the check when you send it in with one of your children. Cash will also be accepted (receipts will be sent home).

Can my company or employer match donations? Of course! Check out www.bobcatfund.org to see how easy it is to get this arranged.
