Congratulations to the following students who have been inducted to the SRC for 2020. Zavannah Lodge, Nayte Thompson, Nevaeh Lodge, Layla Stove, Jack Bomford, Alice Hoskinson, Molly Eddington, Zachary Hancock, Alexis Hancock, Hayden Purvis, Kyle Rowland, Dakoda Rumbel, Olivia Shields, Haylee Turner, Cecil Readett, Lily Walther, Matilda Fielding and Cooper Shields. Zone Swimming Carnival Well done to all the students who competed at Zone Swimming in Gunnedah on Friday 14th February. Everybody participated with great sportsmanship and your behaviour was exceptional. A special congratulations to Haylee Turner and Chloe McInerney who both received runner up age champions.

Sporting School’s Sporting School’s with Sam will continue on Wednesday’s. Students are able to wear their sports uniform on Wednesdays. Smart Start Welcome to our new Smart Start students and their families. Shirts and hats (waiting arrival) are available to purchase from the office for $15.00 (cash is preferred), there will also be hats available for purchase. Nitbusters On Thursday 27th February 2020, Healthwise will be visiting our school for a Nitbuster day. Notes were sent home on Thursday, please return to school ASAP. All students including Smarties are attending, we would like every student to participate to help combat the headlice issue we have at the moment. Great Aussie Bush Camp Excursion Students in Years 3 - 6 have the opportunity to attend the Great Aussie Bush Camp Excursion on Monday 3rd - Friday 7th August (Term 3, Week 3). An expression of Interest note will be sent home this week, please return note and non-refundable deposit by Friday 6th March 2020. This is so the school can confirm exact pricing to inform parents of the price so payments can be made. Any male parents who would be available and willing to attend the excursion as an extra helper please let the school know by Friday 6thMarch also, you must have a volunteer or paid working with children’s check. Year 6 Shirts Students in Year 6 have the opportunity to purchase a Year 6 shirt, a separate note has been sent home today with further information. Please return money and note by Thursday 5th March, the shirts will be ordered on the Friday.
Art Shirts Art is one of the Key Learning Areas at Boggabri Public School, we like to get the students creative juices flowing. To ensure your child’s uniform is kept clean and free from paints etc, the staff would like each student to have a paint apron/smock/shirt to wear during their art classes. The school has purchased aprons for parents to buy, they will be $10.00 each. They are due to arrive early next week. PSSA Sporting Trials In Term 1, students who are turning 8 and above have the opportunity to trial for various sports throughout the term. Parents please note these trials are for individual achievement, not representing the school as a team sport. The school has entered into the PSSA Knockout competition later in the year for students to compete as Boggabri Public School this is more of a have a go fun atmosphere for the students. Students will be asked of a morning assembly if they would like to trial for a certain sport and receive notes. It is the parent’s responsibility to organise transport into Gunnedah for the trials. Each trial has a fee of $5.00 per student to attend this is to be paid to the school. Please see the Term calendar for the Term 1 sporting trials on offer. • PSSA Basketball Boys and Girls Congratulations to the students selected to attend the PSSA NW Basketball trials on Friday 28th February 2020. Well done to Chase Campbell, Kye Tumbers and Dakoda Rumbel. Please return your note by Wednesday 26th February 2020.
• PSSA Soccer Boys & Girls PSSA Soccer trials will be held next Friday 6th March from 11:30am in Gunnedah. Once the school receives the note from the coaches it will be distributed to the interested students. Please return note and $5.00 trial fee

Swimming for Sport Swimming for Sport will continue until Friday 3rd April. Students will need their money, swimmers and towel each Friday. Wellbeing and Discipline Policy Thank you to all the parents and carers who returned the feedback form it is greatly appreciated! Students will receive their $2.00 canteen voucher today. Newsletters The school newsletter will be printed every fortnight of a Monday. In Term 1, it will go home Weeks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 & 11. The best way to keep up to date with upcoming events is the school newsletter, all details are written in the fortnightly newsletter. Permission notes for specific events are usually sent up to a fortnight in advance, please return before the due date. Permission notes are now also being put on school stream, if parents would like to fill them out online please email them to [email protected] and the office will print them off; if money is required please send into school in an envelope. Uniform The uniform for Term 1 is as follows: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Formal Uniform Girls: Summer tunic, white socks, black shoes. Boys: Blue short sleeve shirt, navy cargo shorts, white/navy/black socks and black shoes.
Casual Uniform Girls: Red shirt, navy skort, white socks and black shoes. Boys: Red shirt, navy cargo shorts, white/navy/black socks and Black shoes.
Wednesday and Friday - Sports Uniform Red shirt, microfibre sports shorts/sport skirt, white socks and any coloured joggers.
Parents please note that due to the difficulty of finding navy socks boys are able to wear white/black or navy socks. All uniforms, except the shoes and socks can be purchased from the school office. We do run a very limited clothing pool where items are available for a small donation. Assemblies Assemblies will be held in weeks 4, 6, 9 & 11 in Term 1. They are held in the school hall from 9:00am. The assembly dates are as follows:

Attendance Attendance is important for your child to gain the most out of their education. This year to encourage students to attend school, each class will have a goal of 95% attendance each week. It will be monitored and classes will receive a reward. Student Banking Student banking is every Wednesday. Please drop your bank book to the front office. If you would like to join the Commonwealth Bank Student Banking please see the front office. School Stream This year we will be again using School Stream. School stream is a mobile app that sends information, such as newsletters, permission notes and important updates directly to your phone. P&C and Canteen News 25th February is Shrove Tuesday! The canteen is having a Pancake Day, notes went home last week, and you still have time to order. Please check menu prices before ordering. There has been a slight price increase on some of our items. We have garlic bread available to order for 20c a piece. Free fruit Monday is on 2nd & 4th Monday of the month. The canteen will open on Mondays, Thursday and Fridays and closed of a Tuesday and Wednesday. The canteen is always after volunteers to help out. Please contact Camille Wannan 0421 850 268 with the time you are available ASAP. The P&C AGM will be held Wednesday 18th March at 3:15pm. All welcome. Come along and have an input and say about your child's schooling and help support our wonderful school and staff. Annual membership will also be due for renewal at a cost of $2 per person. If anyone has any queries about the P&C please feel free to speak with Helen, Nicole or any of the other P&C members.
