2 “Sessions” Through the SummerSession 1: May 26 – July 3 • Government Phase 1 – ½ of assigned groups

• Government Phase 2 – 18 person groups

• Government Phase 3 - combine 18 person groups (new practice times / increase practice durations)

• Single Practices - Focus on consistent Schedule

Session 2: July 6 – August 8• Schedule and procedures will be announced as we approach July.

• Possible to move to traditional groups / summer schedule or stay in “phases” program.

• Possible for new swimmers to enter pool schedule

• Doubles possible (GW & SR) / Focus on increasing durations of practices.

• Possibility of ‘in season’ competition towards the end of summer.

July: Registration for the 2020-2021 Swimming Year (Starts August 10)

Phases, Groups, SchedulesIn “Phase 1” according to Bolles Admin and Government:

• ½ of group (9 swimmers) will attend a practice on alternate days. Coaches will assign practice times within the group; your scheduled practice time will stay the same –just alternate a day on and a day off.

In “Phase 2” :

• Full group (18 swimmers) attends practice together. Your practice will be as scheduled om the next slide.

In “Phase 3”:

• 2 Groups will be combined (36 swimmers) and attend practice together. Your practice time may change, and practices may increase in length.

“Phases” above are a determination of Bolles Coaches – based on input from Government and Bolles Admin. We will evaluate phases each week and announce any change in schedule at least a full week in advance.

Parking May 26-29

There will be an extra amount of traffic on campus as students and families collect belongings from the school year.

Parking is restricted to LOT D after drop off. This is the lot next to the gym with access to the courtyard by the diving boards. Access to the pool is only available from the main entrance NOT through courtyard.

For this week, please understand that families are being asked to follow distancing guidelines. And that we need to park so that they are not put into a conflicting situation.

Swimmer Pickup/Drop OffSwim traffic will follow a single lane through LOT E and then in front of the construction and pool entrance.

Please be prepared to drop off your swimmer then follow the lane through the pickup zone to exit.

For pick up, drive through the same lane to the pick up location in front of the fence by Uiblepool.

May 26-29 Park only in Lot D (next Slide).

May 30 and on you may park in available spots around the campus.

Parking

• Driving swimmers park in student lot/Lot D next to gym and locker rooms, then walk about Bent center to enter pool near Whitehurst campus. Locker rooms and the Bent Center will be closed. Congregating following practice will not be allowed.

• The Special Events lot is a construction zone and is NOT available for parking.

• Drop Off in front of construction site along Whitehurst campus road. main entrance across from Whitehurst campus.

• Pick Up in current parking spaces adjacent to pool.

• Parking is available in Whitehurst spots or in the main parking lot in front of campus.

ParentsParents must remain in car and are not permitted in the facility or to stand along the fence. Walking or using Bolles campus not permitted until otherwise notified.

Parents should plan to drop off and pick up swimmers at the appointed practice time; swimmers will not be able to enter the facility until the time listed as other groups will be leaving at that time. Parents may leave campus or park on campus to wait.

If you have a need to reach your swimmer during practice time please call the contact numbers listed below.

Facility Entry Procedures• Enter through a propped open gate and meet coaches. Try to avoid gathering at gate. Early

drop offs and late pick ups will not be permitted.

• Temperature Scan

• Answer screening questions

• Sanitize Hands

• Move to designated group area on bleachers

• Bleachers marked for athletes behind lanes used.

• Move to assigned lanes with coach and get in.

• Bathroom (Uible Pool House) access for swimmers only / Emergency Only

There will not be access to a changing facility or showers at the pool until further notice.

Equipment bags will stay at home and with the athletes, bags for holding a towel, goggles, caps, and any other necessities will be placed under cover in the bleachers during practice.

Entry Screening

• Temperature Check – temperature must be less than 100.4 degrees

• Screening Questions• Do you have a cough or any shortness of breath? (Hold Deep Breath 5-10 sec)

• Do you or any family members have a fever?

• Have you been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19?

• Have you traveled to a COVID-19 hotspot recently?

If travel is not to a COVID hotspot, and there are no other symptoms, they will be admitted. If travel has been to a hotspot area or the answer to any of the other questions is “yes”, then the parents will be contacted, and the athlete will be sent home.

Facility Exit Procedures

• Swimmers will leave lanes only when coach gives permission and move directly to belongings.

• Keep distanced while toweling off/covering up.

• Leave facility by softball field and wait in spots on sidewalk outside of fence.

• Senior swimmers walk directly to cars and depart campus.

• If needed wait in designated sidewalk area along fence.

• Load car in designated areas.

Time Slots and Late Entry

• Coaches are designated to screen group for temperature and questions on arrival, after the group has arrived and passed entryway, swimmers cannot enter the facility without being screened. Gates will be closed, and swimmers may not be able to enter. If you have conflicts, please communicate in advance. Please work to be on time and drop swimmers off at designated time.

• Swimmers may only begin to enter the facility at their designated time, early arrivals and late departures will not be allowed as it will crossover other groups.

Facility Sanitation Procedures & PPE• Aramark daily sanitation of coach's offices, restrooms, and common areas.

• Coaches will sanitize bleacher area and any shared equipment following each practice.

• Swimmers using restroom – will be given a wipe and asked to wipe down surfaces touched. Coaches will sanitize restrooms following a session if used.

• Coaches will wear face coverings to greet and interact with swimmers, they may remove coverings to coach from a safe distance. They will use gloves for any cleaning or interactions.

Confirmed Illness ProceduresIf any swimmer or family member experiences COVID-19 Symptoms:

• Swimmer should stay home (notify coaches) or leave practice.

• That swimmer will be asked to stay home 14 days or get a clear test.

• Swimmers family should notify coach immediately and coach will communicate to immediate group.

If any swimmer or family member test positive for COVID-19:

• Programming will stop immediately on learning of positive test. Complete sanitation of facility and wait 3 days to resume programming.

• Practice group effected will be asked to quarantine 14 days or produce a clear test.

Suspected Illness ProcedureFor a swimmer who does not pass entry screening or shows symptoms of illness during a practice:

• The swimmer will be immediately removed from the practice and senthome (parents contacted for pick up or sent to car).

• The session will be paused to sanitize the areas used and have all swimmers and staff wash hands after they depart.

• That swimmer will be asked to stay home until no symptoms are shown AND they receive a clear COVID19 test or Quarantine for 14 days.

• Coaches will notify the practice group of a suspected illness and remind swimmers experiencing any symptoms to stay at home.

• Without a positive test, that practice group or team will not be stoppedand practices will resume.

Safe Sport Monitor

• A sign up to allow for a safe sport monitor to be on deck (away from swimmers) to be at each practice (a parent or guardian).

• Monitors must have PPE (face covering and gloves) and are asked to observe practice for inappropriate behavior (not related to coaching). Any reports of inappropriate behavior should be directed to the Office contact lines mentioned.

• Monitors may be asked to assist in a first aid situation or emergency as needed.

• In senior only practices, swimmers will be reminded of safe sport policies and given access to safe sport coordinator.

Inclement Weather• We will be more vigilant for approaching storms and more likely to clear

the pool earlier so that parents can pickup swimmers in the event of weather. Coaches will work to communicate the potential for storms and a plan of action as needed.

• Once the pool is cleared we will cancel that session to allow for the safe pickup of athletes. Coaches may adjust which gates are used for facility exit to allow for the safe exit of swimmers to pick up vehicles.

• We will use Sundays and Saturday afternoons to provide weather make ups if a group misses more than 2 practice sessions.

Attendance, Holidays, & Family Travel• There is no attendance policy. All practices are an opportunity for

your swimmer and should be left to each family member’s discretion. Flexible practice times or changing groups are not possible to meet contact tracing guidelines.

• The team will NOT have practice on Memorial day (May 25th), or July 4th and 5th.

• We encourage families to take their scheduled vacations or time away this summer. Please remember swimmers will be screened on entry and if you travel to a COVID hotspot you may need a clear test or a 14 day quarantine to resume.

• We ask that if you know you are not planning to attend a practice to please let your coach know via email.
