Die-cut parts

Based on your requirements we develop and manufacture die-cut parts from single-sided and double-sided adhesive tapes, as well as from non-adhesive synthetic materials and elastomers, in order to optimize your production process.

Self-adhesive gaskets

In order to seal touch panels, displays or housings against moisture and dust we manufacture die-cut parts from self-adhesive EPDM, foam rubber, neoprene, NBR or SBR rubber, starting from 0.1 mm of thickness. The adhesive tapes can be converted into die-cut adhesive frames or sealing cords.

Glass panel connections for monitors, touch screens and mobile phones are made from punched die-cut frames using 3M VHB Acrylic Foam, Coroplast SPT, Tesa ACX or Avery AFB high-performance adhesive tapes. These die-cut parts provide waterproof, solvent-resistant and reliable bonding.

Self-adhesive dots, circles and pads

We manufacture self-adhesive dots, circles and pads from 3M Scotch-Mount foam adhesive tapes, Tesafix adhesive tapes, transfer adhesive tapes and 3M VHB Acrylic Foam. These products are available on rolls or sheets with pull-off aids or as single parts with slit release paper.

Front panels

Our front panels are made from high-quality plastic materials coated with adhesives and can tolerate extreme strain. Their surfaces are scratch- and wipe-resistant, and are built to withstand heavy industry requirements. Control elements within the panels are die-cut while backlit areas are printed with translucent colors. Recesses for adhesives or stampings are technically feasible. Front panels can be employed as keypads with different spacers or as casing covers with die-cut connections.

Labels

Virtually all products today come with some kind of identifi-cation marking, be it in the form of nameplates or reference labels, manufacturer’s data or warning symbols, promotional stickers or brand names.

We manufacture according to your specifications or advise you on defining the best solution. From single labels to high-volume production runs, we can produce your labels using conventional printing methods such as letterpress, screen printing, flexoprinting, thermal transfer printing, offset or digital printing. We offer a wide range of materials, from simple paper labels to scratch- and solvent-resistant high performance films with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA).

Labels can also be manufactured with static or dynamic barcodes and safety features such as tamper protection. We process UL-certified materials, subject to your approval.

Die-cut parts are delivered according to your requirements on rolls, strips or sheets. Kiss-cut and die-cut labels can be equipped with a pull-off aid or a rear slit for easy processing.

Safety labels and warranty seals

Safety foils cannot be removed without a trace. Any attempt to tamper with the label will destroy it or leave behind letters or symbols on the protected material. We can manufacture customized safety labels for you, for example with your company logo printed on holographic foils.

Parking permits

SMS Converting manufactures company-specific parking permits and access authorizations. Safety features can be integrated and the labels can be personalized in compliance with data protection regulations.

Inspection labels

SMS Converting provides inspection labels for both temporary and permanent marking. These labels can be produced in heat-resistant quality on request.

Security foils and tamper evident materials that display a triangle, void, or checkerboard are frequently used. These leave patterns or destroy themselves when tampered with. For example, we manufacture inspection labels that comply with electrical installation and equipment regulations, trade standards for ladders and steps, and accident prevention regulations. In addition, we produce base labels, which allow for the detachment and replacement of inspection labels.

Inventory labels

SMS Converting supplies both printed and blank inventory labels. The blank labels can be printed upon using thermal transfer or laser printers. In addition to standard inventory labels, our labels can be manufactured in scratch-resistant, permanent, detachable, temperature-resistant qualities or with safety foil. For this purpose, we use a variety of materials such as triangle, void or checkerboard foils, which provide optimum protection against attempted tampering.

Type and device identification labels and plates

Type labels provide important information about your products, such as the manufacturer's certificate, machine and device information, technical performance data, technical diagrams or operating instructions. High-quality solutions enable you to display brands and logos on your products. We realize your corporate design and meet your requirements.

We offer a variety of materials as a starting point for your marking, such as synthetic materials, metals and composite materials. From a basic vinyl lettering to a bolted or riveted metal plate, our markings are permanent and, if required, resistant to chemicals or abrasion- and scratch-resistant.

Vinyl film lettering

Our modern plotters cut your lettering and logos with high accuracy and reproducibility in colored, self-adhesive foils. After weeding, the film plots are covered with an application tape or paper to ensure trouble-free transfer.A comprehensive portfolio of films made by leading manu-facturers enables us to cover your color specifications.

Barcodes and 2D barcode labels

We manufacture barcode labels to identify goods and capital assets. Due to the large amount of information the barcodes contain, our labels are also suitable for monitoring main-tenance intervals or insurance purposes.We produce your barcode labels with individual texts, logos, in customized sizes and shapes, and materials corresponding to your specific requirements. Linear barcodes, e.g. Code 39 or Code 128 specification, can be used, as well as 2D systems such as QR codes or the GS1 DataMatrix.

Retroreflective labels

For marking in high bay warehouses and for other long-range scanning applications we manufacture labels from retro- reflective foils. The barcodes printed on these foils are easily readable from long distances. A protective laminate ensures that the labels last for a very long time.

Solvent-resistant labelsLabels for explosion hazard areas

These labels have neither a protective finish nor a laminate and can thus be printed by you. A special combination of labeling material and ink ribbon for thermal transfer printing means we can provide you solvent-resistant labels for a variety of difficult surfaces and use in environments where there is a risk of explosion.

Domed labels and 3D labels

A three-dimensional lens is poured on these particularly high-quality labels. In addition to the exceptional color brilliance, domed labels are characterized by excellent resistance. They are particularly suitable for company badges and logos, as well as keyring pendants.

By processing a special PU-resin in combination with various adhesives and support materials, our 3D labels have advanced impact, weather and UV resistance, as well as a viscoelastic consistency. Domed labels are manufactured with customized adhesive power.

Relabeling foil

Labels attached to relabeling foil can easily be removed and replaced without residue, even after a long time. Containers can thus be labeled over and over again, without scraping off the old labels. Re-labeling works in virtually no time at all, and flawed readings are avoided.

You can keep your previous labels and use them on colored or transparent relabeling foil. Serial numbers, company or warehouse locations or logos can be included on Relabeling foil. Layout, format and quantities are freely selectable. Relabeling foil is also available in weather-resistant quality.

SMS Converting produces blank and partially printed labels in optional formats and roll dimensions to allow for customized marking with your thermal transfer printer, regardless of its brand or make. The labels can be manufactured to be wipe-proof, chemical-resistant, permanent or detachable. The adhesives used are tailored to your needs and thus can be used on all surfaces. As for all of its products, SMS Converting offers single-unit production runs and there is no minimum order quantity.

We can deliver blank and partially printed labels, as well as sets that allow for customized marking using your thermal transfer printer.

Labels for laser lettering

Our labels for laser lettering are unforgeable because of their abrasive laser engraving into a 2-layer composite film. They cannot be removed without deterioration. Since those labels are resistant to oil, chemicals and high temperatures up to 300°C, they are suitable for engine compartment markings, for example.

Anti-slip tapes

3M Safety-Walk is a self-adhesive, anti-slip coating that offers long-term safety on a variety of surfaces. The coating has very high abrasion resistance and thus withstands extreme stress, both in dry and wet areas. It can be used in a variety of places, such on ladders and vehicles, on stairs and machines, in swimming pools and in showers, wherever there is a risk of people slipping.

Ground and floor marking

3M Scotch-Lane self-adhesive floor markings can be used to mark driving surfaces, off-limit areas, parking lots, escape routes, industrial and indoor floors. The markings can be either temporary or permanent. The material is available on rolls or converted into die-cut marking signs, such as arrows or traffic symbols.

We offer single-unit, small-scale and large-scale production runs: your products are manufactured quickly in accordance with your requirements.

Die cutting

Using platens, cylinders or eccentric presses, flat-bed or rotary methods, SMS Converting die cuts roll to roll up to a size of 700 x 500 mm and sheets up to a size of 1,000 x 600 mm using digital or laser cutting. Foams, rubber and other materials with a thickness up to 20 mm can processed.

Cutting

We cut materials that you purchase from SMS Converting or provide, using cut-off and rewinding techniques. We make individual pieces according to your precise specifications. This includes roll cutting from widths of 2 mm to 1,500 mm with the desired length and sheet sizes.

Laminating

We laminate materials with thicknesses of 0.05 to 20 mm, using roll to roll, sheet to sheet and roll to sheet techniques and emlpoying single-sided and double-sided adhesive materials. All films and foils up to a width of 1,300 mm can be processed. Typical applications are the finishing of rolls or plates with adhesives, protective lamination for posters, prints and images, film and foil or paper laminations, covering with application tape and protective films, as well as the finishing of film and print products.

Adhesive tape application and lamination

We apply permanent or detachable double-sided self- adhesive tapes. These are suitable for paper, cardboard and plastics. The tape is applied directly onto your material as a continuous strip or as short spots. The upper adhesive surface is covered with protective paper for easier handling.
