Orange Honor Roll is a 4.0 semester GPA, Black Honor Roll is a 3.00-3.99 GPA with No Fs. Driver's Ed: BSHS will hold an informational meeting and registration for Driver's Education during Parent- Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, February 10th at 5 PM in the BSHS Auditorium. Cost for Driver's Education for USD 204 students is $250 and $400 for non-USD 204 students. Students must be 14 years of age by June 1, 2016 to enroll. Course work will begin this Spring and driving with an instructor will take place during the Summer. Please contact Brian J. White at [email protected] if you have any questions prior to the meeting. Courtwarming Dance: The BSHS Courtwarming dance will be held Saturday, February 6 th from 7-10 PM in the BSHS commons. The cost is $8 per person and $15 per couple. Attire for the dance is semi-formal, meaning no jeans. All BSHS students who would like to bring an out of district date to the dance are required to complete an “out of district” form. Each student has been sent a copy of the form via school e-mail. Forms must be completed and faxed back to Mrs. DeLeon by Wednesday, February 3 rd by 10 AM. Dazzlers Dance Team: Dazzlers Dance team try-out clinics are March 7-9, and try-outs on the 10th. A parent meeting will be held Feb. 23rd at 6:30 PM in the BSHS auditorium. Check it out: https://youtu.be/-5v_mIGEdHk Leukemia and Lymphoma Drive: CMS will be conducting its annual Leukemia and Lymphoma fund raiser through the end of January. Pennies for Patients is the theme, as every penny counts towards care of patients and continued cancer research. Our school goal is $600, and we are halfway there. Student Congress has sponsored two Spirit Days: Hat Day and PJ Day. Students participated with a $.50 donation. CMS Student Congress will also join with the local blood drive, to be held on January 30th at the Bonner Springs Fire Department. Donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be accepted during the blood drive. In the 1960s, the survival rate for the most common form of childhood leukemia was 3%/ Today ti's approximately 90% thanks to many research advances funded by LLS. CMS students have been viewing videos during TRIBE to learn more about cancer and research advances. Little Dazzlers: The Bonner Springs High School Dance Team is conducting a Little Dazzlers Dance Clinic for K-5 girls! PTO Meeting: PTO will be hosting a formal PTO meeting on February 2nd at BSE in the Library starting at 6 PM. This will also serve as our Carnival Kick Off meeting. All are welcome! We need all the help we can get. Box Tops: The BSE Box Top Drive will run February 1st - February 19th. Top pod will receive an Ice cream party! Delaware Ridge Elementary Little Dazzlers: The Bonner Springs High School Dance Team is conducting a Little Dazzlers Dance Clinic for K-5 girls! Principal's Newsletter: Check out the February edition of the Principal's Newsletter on our website. Chili Cook-Off: Our Chili Cook-Off, raffle, and Silent Auction Night is quickly approaching. If you plan to donate items, please send all items to school this week. This fundraiser is to replace those tedious fundraisers of selling candy and wrapping paper, etc. So instead of selling something to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers, invite them to come along. There are great Silent-Auction Items like birthday party packages, trips to Omaha, St. Louis, and Branson. The grade level baskets will have lot of great things and will be raffled off for $1 per ticket or $25 tickets for $20. We hope to see you here on February 5th from 5-7:30!!!
