Camelot is a recognized classic both in terms of its status as one of the most intriguing legends of all time, and as one of the greats of the Lerner and Loewe collaborations. To make the staging of our production innovative while remaining true to the concepts of the writers posed interesting challenges in view of the resources available to us. Clearly the grand staging and massive cast of the Broadway production were impractical for the Lydia Medelssohn Theatre. Yet its classical elements make it adaptable to any stage. With six weeks to rehearse, I felt extremely fortunate to be in the company of an exceptional group of designers and production staff, and some of the most professional performers and musicians in our community. I would like to express my sincere gratitude and respect to them and to all those who contributed their time and talent to this production.
