Welcome to all of our 44th Kentuck Festival of the Arts 2015 artists. We have 265 artists in 16 mediums, from 27 states, including 44 artists from Alabama and 90 brand-new-to-Kentuck artists. As you look through the list to find your favorite artists and make notes about whom to visit first at the Festival, you’ll see the following icons:
This artist comes a day early to spend time in an area school (Kentuck Artists in the School program).
This artist was an award winner at the 2014 Festival.
This artist demonstrates their expertise at the Festival.
This artist is a guest artist. These artists wouldn't normally do festivals -- whether through economic hardship, inexperience in the art world, or a lack of appreciation for their outsider or visionary art forms -- but whose work is traditionally and culturally important. This group also includes folk artists from the other side of the spectrum, who are widely collected by individuals and museums; many of these were first introduced to the art world through the Kentuck Festival of the Arts. Our Guest Artists expose Festival-goers and emerging artists to traditional craft and contemporary folk art, opening discussions and broadening understanding.
This artist has juried into the Festival and participated in the Festival for at least 3 consecutive years.
This artist is brand-new-to-Kentuck this year.
This artist has supported our Restore Kentuck campaign by donating artwork for a fundraising event. We raised over $6,000 at this event for our building fund to remodel the Main Museum building, which has been uninhabitable since 2013. To see more about this, visit our website.
