Book Talk:
Dan KaminCharlie Chaplin’s Red Letter Days
Thursday, September 21 ❘ 11 amCLP – West End
Pittsburgh mime artist and Chaplin expert Dan Kamin will introduce Charlie Chaplin’s Red Letter Days, an eyewitness account of the ebb and flow of life at the Chaplin studio. Written by Fred Goodwins, one of the actors in the company, the breezy narrative originally appeared in 1916 as a series of thirty-seven articles in the British magazine Red Letter. Its republication marks a major find for cinema buffs and anyone who has ever been touched by Chaplin's artistry.
About the Presenter: When Hollywood producers need physical comedy and monster movement, they call on Dan Kamin. He trained Robert Downey, Jr. for his Oscar-nominated performance in Chaplin and created Johnny Depp’s physical comedy routines in Bennyand Joon. The author of two books about Chaplin, Mr. Kamin often performs internationally, combining comedy, movement and classical music.
