The Wayland-Weston WarCats finished their season with a record of 10-6-4 earning the #14 seed in the Division 1 Girls Hockey tournament.  Despite a hard fought battle, the WarCats saw their season end with a 3-0 loss to Reading in the preliminary round. The WarCats are a young team and look forward to continuing to build on this season's success!

GIRLS HOCKEY Coach Wink Van Ogtrup

ALPINE SKI Coach George Conlin

Boys basketball had a fantastic season!  It was a great group to coach.   We won the Division 2 Central Championship over Hopkinton High (61-49); the game was played at Worcester State University. It was the first time that the boys basketball team has won a sectional title since 1991. After an 0-3 start, the team finished with an 11-7 regular season record and 14-8 overall record. We lost in the D2 State Semi-Finals to the Western Mass Champion Taconic by a score of 62-56 at Western New England University.

BOYS BASKETBALL Coach Dennis Doherty

With snow on the first day of practice, the season started off with tremendous energy from the team. As the season progressed, the team stayed positive and carried that energy through till the end even though the weather was not in our favor. They trained hard in all types of weather and at times on a patch of snow that was at best 50 yards long and 10 yards wide. The girls team placed 3rd in an extremely competitive league, had 2 skiers in the top 10 (Tali Wong 1st and Jules Apse 7th) and 6th in the State. Coming into the season with only 2 returning varsity skiers, they rallied and showed that they were still in the game with Billy Caddoo coming in 2nd overall for the league and placing 9th in t h e State.

NORDIC SKI Coach Chris Li

CHEER Coach Kristen SaiaThis years winter team was mostly freshman, they entered the team eager and willing to learn. The upperclassmen and captains did an amazing job making them feel like part of the team.  They worked hard as a team and gained many new skills!

BOYS The boys of Wayland Swim and Dive capped off another terrific season, going 17-0, and defending their DCL, Sectional and State titles making it the 4th year in a row they have gone undefeated throughout the state at any meet. The team broke 6 varsity records throughout the season before celebrating in the final team splash at the BU pool after receiving their team trophy. This group has pulled together so immensely taking what some view as an individual sport into a remarkable place where team always comes first. The boys will wait now to see how they rank nationally as they look to make it a 3 peat of a "National Title" for small schools across the country through

NISCA's National Power Point Rankings.

SWIM & DIVE Coach Mike Foley

The Wayland Girls Swim and Dive team

completed another terrific season, going 12-3 overall on the season, with losses coming to both the Div I and Div II state champions. They defeated a strong Concord Carlisle team who took runner up at the Div I State meet both head to head and at the DCL championship meet where the Warriors were runners up themselves. The girls capped off the season finishing 3rd at the Div II state meet in late February, moving up from their projected 5th place finish entering into the meet. The team continued to pull together all season long, bringing the team to a very competitive place as the season progressed.
