PRODUCT INF’ORMATION

Borax Consolidated has introduced a range of zinc borate flame retardants for the plastics industry and is simplifying its offer of zinc borate flame retardants under one trade name worldwide.

The new name is FIREBREAK and products are designated by decomposition temperature in “C. For example, Firebreak 290 is their new name of the company’s existing 2335 material.

The Suprex Corporation, distributed in the UK by Roth Scientific Ltd., has published a 49 page applications booklet entitled “The Extraction and Analysis of Polymer Additives Using Supercritical Fluids”.

This comprehensive publication discusses the advantages of using supercritical fluids for the quantitative analysis of polymer additives compared to more established analytical techniques including soxhlet extraction/HPLC analysis. As well as examining the types of samples and matrices that are suitable for analysis by supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and chromatography (SFC), it offers an extensive library of existing quantitative applications.
