FUND FOR MEMORY AND HOPE New for 2010: Fast course with neutral elevation and flat finsh; includes Purple Path, campus lake, shade, open spaces and panoramic views. Start & Finish: Behind Science Library on UAlbany uptown campus (1400 Washington Ave., Albany, NY), at the Tailgating and Homecoming/Fall Festival area. Both 5K Fun Run and 2.5K Walk will start at the same time. Walkers will head to Finish Line after passing Bubble Gym; Runners will loop around campus lake and Dutch Quad athletic fields before heading to Finish Line. Little Dane Dash: Behind the Science Library: 50 yard dash with medals and souvenirs for all participants; commemorative group photo with mascot sent via email (provide valid email address!). Notice to UAlbany Student 5K Runners: Wear your “DANEger Zone” T-shirt, get a prize! High School/College Teams: Special pricing: $25 for first 10 students; $5/student thereafter. FUND FOR MEMORY AND HOPE The Fund for Memory and Hope at UAlbany’s Cancer Research Center (CRC) supports research and educational endeavors to add to the combined knowledge that will eventually result in a cure for cancers, especially those of the breast, bladder, prostate and colon. The Fund supports research and educational endeavors by: acquiring equipment and instrumentation vital to ever-changing research demands; providing crucial research stipends for interns and graduate students who work in the laboratories; attracting and assisting new staff researchers through bridge grants; disseminating information on important developments and findings to the public and scientific community; and attracting new supporters to the CRC through community outreach, programs and special events.
