God charged them to respond to God’s rescuing love by obeying God’s commandments. Their life together was to express the justice and compassion of their holy God.

Since we, too, are the Lord’s covenant people, we know we must be holy as the Lord is holy. We must keep God’s commandments, not in order to earn or compel the Lord’s favor, but to reflect the character of God and to be God’s grateful and loving people. SHARING OUR HEARTS WITH GOD Following each petition, God’s people respond:

Leader: Loving God, People: Hear our prayer. THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Announcements Make a Hymn or Song Request! ~ TODAY is the last day During the month of July, be thinking about some of your favorite hymns or worship songs, write them on the form, and then place the forms in the offering plate. We will try to incorporate them into the worship services in August! Please know that some songs are not covered by Boulevard’s copyright licenses and we may not be able to reproduce them in the bulletin. However, if it’s something we have sung in worship before, then it’s covered. Forms are in the bulletin and on the table in the Lounge, or you can give your suggestions to Mary Ann Stephens at 614-488-8172 or [email protected]. Child Protection Policy Mandatory Training ~ August 19 or 26 at 10:00 am The Equipping Committee invites any and all who are currently Wee Worship Leaders, Nursery Volunteers, or chaperones for youth activities to attend a MANDATORY training session on August 19 OR August 26 at 10:00 am in room 111. See the Hymnal Display in the Lounge Be sure to check out the display in the Lounge introducing Glory to God: the Presbyterian Hymnal. There are sample copies for viewing. We have received donations and memorial money for approximately 50 hymnals—that’s 1/6th or almost 18% of the goal of 300 hymnals! Donation forms are also available on the display table. Donate Flowers to Beautify the Chapel and Sanctuary on Sunday Mornings If you would like to donate flowers to beautify our worship spaces on Sunday mornings, please pick up one of the yellow envelopes labeled “Offering for Flowers.” The envelopes are available from a stand on the usher’s desk in the Lounge. Complete the information on the envelope, enclose your check or cash, and either drop it in the offering plate on Sunday or mail it to the church office. The cost of an arrangement is $30.00. The arrangements may be picked up following the second service. Be a Greeter before the Service! There is a need for greeters for both services. This is an easy job to do that is very important for our church. If you feel that you could be the welcoming, friendly face on Sunday mornings, please contact Linda Wilton at 614-486-4233, or write “Greeter” on the friendship pad, and she will add you to the schedule. School Supplies Collection for Neighborhood Services, Inc.

and Hilltop Preschool

During the month of July, we will be collecting school supplies for the children served by Neighborhood Services, Inc. (NSI) and also for the children from the Hilltop Preschool who will be graduating to kindergarten next June. Needed items include:

No. 2 Pencils, pens, pink erasers Notebooks, loose leaf paper, spiral notebooks, graph paper, pocket folders, 3-ring binders Glue sticks, scissors (blunt for Kindergarten age), rulers Crayons, colored pencils, markers, highlighters Small calculators, both basic and scientific Boxes of tissues Backpacks

Another option is to “purchase” a filled backpack for the children at Hilltop. We estimate the cost per backpack to be $15.

You may bring your donations anytime during the month of July. Please place all donations in the large plastic container under the bulletin board in the hallway to the Chapel. Should you prefer to make a monetary donation, you may write a check with the notation “Back-to-School” in the memo section. You may either mail your check to the church office or place it in the collection plate on Sunday.

Thank you for helping get these children off to a good start this school year.
