The term has been very busy with lots of wonderful things happening, particularly our whole school Production. Thank you to all of our families and friends that came along to support our students on stage. We hope you enjoyed our performance as much as we enjoyed putting it all together for you. It was a wonderful experience for all our students and we are already looking forward to our next one in 2021. Congratulations to all our students and staff who put so much work into creating a wonderful show that will be a special memory for all of us in years to come. Special thanks must go to Mrs Day and Mr Murphy for the hours of work they put into writing the script, filming and editing the video sections and making sure everything was good to go for all three of our performances. Extra thanks to Mr Goolagong, all of our support staff and all of our teachers who worked tirelessly on making props and costumes, creating individual class performances and making sure our students enjoyed themselves and learnt things from the process of putting on such a wonderful show. Thanks must also go to our parents and community for supporting each performance and for making the entire experience special by allowing our children to participate after hours on Thursday night last week. It really does add an air of magic to the performance by being able to perform at night and our children really rose to the occasion. Healthy Harold Healthy Harold came to visit us this week. We learnt lots about good and bad drugs and medicines, the effects that they have and how to handle ourselves in sticky situations. It’s always great to see Harold visit our school and his friend, Julie, was most impressed by the way our students engaged in their lessons and worked with Harold. Farewell This week we farewell Mrs Burgess who leaves us to have her 2 nd baby. We wish her all the best and a safe arrival for ‘little Burgess’. We also say a sad farewell to Mr Harvey. Mr Harvey has had a very positive impact on our school and his students in the couple of years he has been with us and he will be very sadly missed. He moves to the coast to help his partner explore new opportunities in her career. We thank Mr Harvey for his wonderful work here at Bowen and wish him all the best in his new school

Hearing and Vision Our wonderful school continues to grow. As a result we have had to move the area Hearing and Vision Teams over to Orange Public School so we can accommodate our growing classes and provide the services to our students that are needed on a day to day basis. The Hearing and Vision Teams have been a part of the Bowen family for many years and it is with great sadness that we see them go. A special farewell must go to Mrs Anikin who was a teacher at Bowen for many years before joining the Vision Team and has had a 25+ year relationship with Bowen Public School and its community. We wish them all the best in their new ‘digs’ and will still see them around from time to time. This term we welcomed Ms Teleri Moore into a school Psychologist role and Ms Cory Johnston into an Occupational Therapist role to further support our students’ learning. These roles help strengthen the support available for all our students here at Bowen and they have already both started to do some amazing work with our students.

Term 4 Term 4 begins for all students on Monday 14 October. There is no staff development day at the beginning of Term 4 this year. We hope to see everyone bright eyed and bushy tailed on 14 October after a safe and happy holiday break.
