First Boxall Profile: Create EBP

2

3

It all starts here in the Boxall Profile Dashboard. To create a new assessment for a child you start by creating a new EBP - an E-Boxall Profile which will allocate an EBP code. This code will remain the same for the entirety of the student’s time in school in order to track individual progress longitudinally. It will also mean that all the child’s data remains anonymised.

Judging by the child or young person’s date of birth, the Online Boxall Profile automatically loads up either the Boxall Profile or the Boxall Profile for Young People.

4

Details about the assessment then need to be completed - if the test isn’t new and you are digitising an old assessment that was completed on paper, simply click ‘digitising an old assessment’ and input the original date of assessment.

The first set of questions to answer are the Individual Factors - to keep this information anonymised you will simply click whether or not each of the eight factors may be affecting the overall development of the child/young person, and then fill in extra information about each of the factors later on in the report.

5

All 34 questions of each section are then displayed in an easy-to-use questionnaire format - just click on a score and it will automatically present the next question on the list.

The diagnostic section switches colour to remind the teacher that the scoring has now also been reversed.

6

The scores are then automatically tallied and created into an easy-to-read histogram. When the scores for each individual strand reach that of a competently functioning child the strand turns green. For strands with room for development they remain red. The teachers then click on a particular strand they want to set as a target (a minimum of two) and these are transferred to the front-page of the report.

When at least two target areas have been chosen by clicking on each strand turning them blue - in this case strand A and R - the report is now ready to be completed with personal information.

7

Click on the button ‘Finalise the Report’: To finish the report on the computer: Click on Enter Additional Details, type in the required information and then print the report. To finish the report by hand: Click on Save as PDF, open and print the report and finish it with pen and paper.

The first option, Enter Additional Details, means that you can complete the report on your computer. Enter all the personal information, strategies for priority areas (referencing the Beyond the Boxall Profile or Beyond the Boxall Profile for Young People) the individual factors and additional information.

8

Right-click on the report and press Print to print the report

The second option is to download the report as a PDF – you will not be able to fill in the report digitally in this way. If you want to fill in the report digitally click the ‘Enter Additional Details‘ button instead. The second option is for practitioners that wish to print out the report and fill it in by hand, and for those wishing to have a PDF copy of the report on their computers.

9

The report is four pages long (two double-sided pages) in a similar format to the paper-based Boxall: the first page containing personal details and the chosen target areas, the last page dedicated to individual risk factors, and the developmental and diagnostic scores on two separate pages so they are easy to look at side-by-side. The reason for this new formatting is simple - it gives the report room for ongoing assessment to track progress… No more individual assessments compared one to the other on separate papers!

Subsequent Boxall Profile: Look up EBP

10

11

For subsequent assessments of the same child/young person, press look up/re-assess EBP on your dashboard

Add their EBP code

12

This will take you to the summary report. To create a new assessment click on the first button next to the EBP code, and click on +New Assessment on the drop-down menu.

If no individual factors have changed since the last time you assessed the child/young person you can choose to skill the individual factors.

13

The second and subsequent reports will show up as the first bar on each strand with the date next to it. It is now possible to complete and print the report as usual.

To delete a particular assessment, choose the assessment on the drop-down menu and click the bin icon – the assessment will be deleted permanently.

14

Manage multiple users

14

15

Subscriptions allow for 10, and even 30 users to be using the digital Boxall Profile.

To invite a colleague to start using the Boxall Profile add their email address and they will be sent joining instructions - the manager of the account will be able to see the number of EBPs and assessments that each account is using.
