    PEARL McCABE

Our club is blessed with several "well seasoned" members -ladies who have dedicated years to BPW and made significant contributions in their own way to our club.Pearl McCabe is just one such member. She has been a BPW lady since 1977 and was honoured with a lifetime membership in 1995. Although she has served as our club Treasurer, she is a self-described "backroom person". Pearl is always willing to assist with any project or fundraiser that our club is involved in. She is currently conducting an audit of our club financials for us.In her earlier years, she spent 22 years at a local car dealership in "dealer accounts" and 10 years working with a chartered accountant. Now retired, she still does some freelance book-keeping work.

BPW strives to be recognized as an organization that provides its members with lifelong learning opportunities.

BPW International has developed their website to include a section pertaining to mentoring. This website provides a brief overview of how mentoring is part of BPW programs in over 20 BPWs around the world. Programs are varied with many very different focuses.

Panama’s program for example benefits university students. They are given economic aid and are provided with member guidance and support. It has been running for over 30 years.

Argentina’s program assists women in entering/re-entering the workforce or starting up and/or advancing their business or profession. In addition, the program helps women improve work-life balance, their health and well-being, protect their rights, helps them to overcome their limitations and create an enabling environment for their advancement. They achieve these goals through workshops such as: ‘Workplace Participation & Personal Excellence’ and ‘Health & Well-being Training’.

France’s program is member to member focused. It encourages ideas exchanging and sharing between executives.

Korea’s program focuses on helping girls in high school. The program helped young women prepare for their future careers through two-day leadership camps.

We can all get ideas and learn from others. Click here to take a look at BPW International’s mentoring section and see what tremendous work BPW groups around the world are doing.http://www.bpw-international.org/services/bpw-services-mentoring.htm
