Things To See & Do
Village Life centres around the National Trust harbour and its thriving fishing and sailing communities.
Explore... the North Norfolk Coast, our sandy beaches, Scolt Head Island, salt marshes, bird life and wildlife. The Norfolk Coast Path is right on the doorstep, running 47 miles along the beautiful coastline. National Cycle Route No1 is just inland from the village, and you can explore the many country lanes. Visit our churches for their ancient architecture, fonts and stained glass.
Be Inspired... by the stunning views from Barrow Common and the landscapes of Brancaster Beach. The salt marshes and countryside are popular for painting and photography. They’ve appearing in many films.
Relax, Eat & Drink... Take in the local scenery or get some retail therapy in the shops at Dalegate Market. Experience local hospitality & seafood at Deepdale Café, The White Horse, The Jolly Sailors, The Crab Hut and The Ship Inn. Indulge yourself with our local seafood - Oysters throughout the year, Mussels in months with an ‘r’ in them and Lobster & Crab in the Summer.
Beautiful Throughout The Year... As one of the driest villages in the country, there is always something to enjoy outdoors. Watch the sky fill with pink-footed geese during winter. January and February are great months for fresh beach walks. May and June offer some of the best weather for sailing, kiting and sea kayaking. October and November are glorious wildlife months.
