    Month Book - Universal Mathematics Activities

    April Unit 1 – Numbers

    Students will be asked to write down their admission number on an A4 size sheet. Then the group of five students will be asked to arrange their admission numbers in ascending and

    descending order.

    May Unit 2 –Addition Activity of regrouping using coloured ear buds.

    July Unit 3 –Subtraction Activity using coloured ear buds to strengthen the concept of borrowing while doing subtraction.

    August Unit 4-Multiplication Multiplication Calendar up to the Multiplication tables of 12.

    September Unit5 -Division

    Activity using empty muffins moulds / ice tray and some beads. Students have to divide the number of beads (asked by the teacher) equally into the empty slots of tray or moulds to

    find out quotient or remainder.

    October Unit 6 - Fractions

    Students will be asked to draw any five real life examples of fractions.

    November Unit 9 -Measurement To make a collage of the objects that are sold by measuring length, weight and capacity to

    have clear understanding of the concept of measurement.

    December Unit11- Money

    Unit 12-Data Handling

    Activity using artificial currency notes and coins to find out different combinations that makes up the given amount of money (as told by teacher).

    Collecting the data on favourite cartoon character of the classmates and representing the

    same using tally marks and pictograph.

    January Unit 10- Time Activity using a clock and tooth picks. Make a clock on an A4 sheet and then show the given time using tooth picks as hands of the clock.

    Unit 7 - Geometry To make different closed geometrical shapes using waste material like match stick,

    toothpick, straw pieces.

    March Unit 8-Patterns Students will be asked to design a best wishes card for their friends by creating any pattern.

    (They can use fruits or vegetables or any dye)
