BRIEFING NOTE Access to Information on AANDC’s “Consultation” Process An access to information request was filed for the following information: “In the October 2013 document “My and Facts: Draft Legislative Proposal for First Nations Education” AANDC refers to 460 survey responses, 68 email submissions, 92 letters from First Nations and other stakeholders, and 17 band council resolutions.” 293 documents 1 were received in response to this access to information request. As the table below demonstrates, the majority of documents from across Canada expressed concern about the process and/or were against the legislation. Access to Information on AANDCs Consultation Process

An access to information request was filed for the following information:

In the October 2013 document My and Facts: Draft Legislative Proposal for First Nations Education AANDC

refers to 460 survey responses, 68 email submissions, 92 letters from First Nations and other stakeholders, and 17
