PRODUCTION BIOS

PETE BISH (Sound Designer) found the theatre while looking for a temporal mechanics class. He assumed that theatre had to be easier than his mission to find ways to slip between dimensions of time without any adverse effects on body or soul…he was wrong. On the plus side he is pretty sure that due to his time in the theatre he can prove with a relative level of certainty that time is cyclical, either that or he is so tired that he just keeps having the same waking dream about moose wandering across the stage on day 2. (Please watch out for the moose and let him know if it is there or not, he has named it Tiny the Moose). DOUGLAS CLARKE (Scenic Design) is a regional designer native to the Phoenix area and thrilled to join Stray Cat this season! He received awards for his scenic designs of Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter at Mesa Community College and for End of the Rainbow at The Phoenix Theatre Company, as well as nominations for his puppets in She Kills Monsters at Arizona State University, and scenic design of Calendar Girls at Phoenix Theatre. Douglas designed New York City premieres of Coffee and Biscuit at Fallen Swallow/Laughing Pigeon and Unity 1918 at Project: Theater. He also presented Dead Man’s Cell Phone as part of the World Stage Design exhibition in Taipei, Taiwan. He continues to design regionally in Nebraska, Colorado, and Arizona; primarily working on contemporary plays, musicals, and theatre for youth. Douglas received his BA & BFA from Arizona State University, and MFA from University of Maryland, College Park. Member of USA 829. Additional info can be found at douglasclarkedesign.com LOUIS FARBER (Director / Associate Artistic Director) is thrilled to help launch season twenty from the director’s chair. You may have seen him in one of the following Stray Cat productions: Small

Mouth Sounds, The Antipodes, Stupid Fucking Bird, Year of the Rooster, The Flick, Heddatron, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Abraham Lincoln’s Big Gay Dance Party, 12th Night of the Living Dead, or The Play About The Naked Guy. Other performance credits include: S#!TFACED SHAKESPEARE (BLK BOX PHX); Hand to God (PhoenixTheatre/Stray Cat Theatre); The Santaland Diaries (Davisson Entertainment); The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged (Southwest Shakespeare Company); A Vampire Tale (Scorpius Dance Theatre); Big River (Mesa Encore Theatre); Times Square Angel, Equus (Nearly Naked Theatre), And In This Corner: Cassius Clay (Black Theatre Troupe/Childsplay), Flora & Ulysses, The Giver, Honus and Me (Childsplay); Mr. Marmalade (NewBraveTheatre); SHOTS: a love story (Progressive Theatre Workshop – 12th Annual New York International Fringe Festival.) Directing credits for Stray Cat Theatre include: MilkMilkLemonade by Joshua Conkel, All New People by Zach Braff, The TomKat Project by Brandon Ogborn, Heathers: the musical by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe, Anything You Hear and Only Half of What You See by Ron Hunting, Silence: the musical by Hunter Bell and Jon and Al Kaplan, and Two Mile Hollow by Leah Nanako Winkler. Outside of Stray Cat, Louis has directed for Black Theatre Troupe (Breakfast With Mugabe by Fraser Grace), Desert Stages Theatre (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Dale Wasserman); Brelby Theatre Company (Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice); Space55 (The Power of Punctuation by Natalie Margolin); Mesa Encore Theatre (The Toxic Avenger: the musical by Joe DiPietro and David Bryan); BLK BOX PHX (The Truth About Santa: An Apocalyptic Holiday Tale by Greg Kotis); Southwest Shakespeare Company (A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare). For Stray Cat later this season, he will be directing Kevin Artigue’s Sheepdog. Louis is extraordinarily grateful to have been a part of crafting

Stray Cat Theatre’s twentieth season which will continue the company’s mission of bringing audiences engaging and provocative contemporary material that provides a visceral theatre experience. Love and gratitude to his incredibly supportive family and partner. MACI HOSLER (Costume Designer) is honored to be involved with Stray Cat’s 20th season! As well as being Stray Cat’s resident costume designer, she is a freelance designer living in the Valley, working with such theatres as The Phoenix Theatre Company, ASU’s Lyric Opera Theatre, and Southwest Shakespeare. Maci received her MFA in Costume Design from Arizona State University and a BS in Apparel Design from Purdue. Previous credits include Legally Blonde, Shrek, 35mm, Faustus, American Psycho, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, Othello, and a dramatic adaptation of Kafka’s In the Penal Colony. She would like to thank her mom, her boyfriend, and her dog, Desdemona, for all their love and support. ANGELA KABASAN-GONZALEZ (Assistant Director) As a freelance designer, Angela has worked on shows throughout the Valley in many capacities, but most notably as a Makeup/Hair designer. She won an AriZoni for her work in MET’s Urinetown and her makeup and costumes have been featured in the Shakespeare Theatre Association’s magazine, Quarto. As a passionate theatre student at MCC, she is elated for this opportunity to work with Stray Cat Theatre! Some of her favorite shows she’s designed are As You Like It, Taming of the Shrew, and Irma Vep (Southwest Shakespeare); Mary Poppins, Pirates of Penzance, She Kills Monsters, Urinetown, Beauty and the Beast (Mesa Encore Theatre); Plaza Suite (Desert Stages). Along with a little voiceover work, film, and tv, she’s also been seen on stage and is a Southwest Shakespeare Core Company Member. She will be performing in The Tempest and Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles later

this season. She last worked on Antigone at MCC which played on the big screen at the Phoenix Film Festival! Some of her most memorable of all-time roles include Golde in Fiddler on the Roof and Ilona Ritter in She Loves Me (Don Bluth Front Row Theatre); Josephine Strong in Urinetown (Mesa Encore Theatre), Karen Nash in Plaza Suite (Desert Stages Theatre), and Truvy Jones in Steel Magnolias (Fountain Hills Theatre). Gratitude to all the talented designers – the work, creativity, and love you put into this production are awe-inspiring! Being able to surround myself with such talent helps tap and release my own creativity I thought I lost years ago! Thanks to: Louis for his guidance, process, and thoughts – you’ll never understand the gift you’ve bestowed and how honored I am you chose me to receive it; Amanda, for bringing order to our often chaotic worlds – I wish my life could always be the well-oiled machine that is working with you; Michael, for staying the course, keeping things moving, and making the hard choices so we don’t have to; Ron, for making theatre “heart first” and evolving the ways that we all think and feel about theatre. Finally, love to Mark, Bailey, and all the friends who supported me through this journey – I am humbled and grateful for all of you. AMANDA KEEGAN (Production Stage Manager) is honored to mark the 2021-22 season as her 10th with Stray Cat Theatre. Special thanks to the entire Stray Cat team for always being so kind and welcoming. BROOKE UNVERFERTH (Patron Relationship Manager) My 10th season as Patron Relationship Manager!! Let’s shout out from the rooftops some gratitude! To Ron May for founding a fearless company that stages productions that are smart, thought-provoking, and intellectually enriching - and for hiring me (holy crap!) a decade ago, not to mention being a great friend/theater buddy/dining ride or die. To Amanda because a good person in the front of the house is only as good as their stage manager, and I know no one better than Amanda. Ask me how lucky I am to call her one of my best friends? (#personpower). To Louis and Michael and everyone else who helps keep the lights on, the actors clothed, and the sets built - my heartiest thanks for keeping everything moving. To our actors, past and present and those coming, who gift us with their time and talent – we are always grateful and aim to never abuse that gift. And to

my beloved Ross who knows that being with me is being with Stray Cat, loves me for it, and provides a wonderful home base to come back to. And finally to our audiences, without whom I’m just a sad person sitting in the lobby. Thank you for opening your hearts and minds to Stray Cat, and for trusting us with your time, energy, and resources. NATALIE WARD (Property Design) is a theatre artist, actor, and technician based in Phoenix. She holds degrees in theatre from Scottsdale Community College and Grand Canyon University. Natalie is the production manager at MoezArt Productions, an educational theatre company catering to the homeschool community, and is the former ATD and prop master at Arizona Broadway Theatre. In this fierce and feverish dark comedy that exploded Off-Broadway right before the zombie plague hit us, a gang of teenage girls gathers in an abandoned tree house to summon the ghost of Pablo Escobar. Are they messing with the actual spirit of the infamous cartel kingpin? Or are they really just messing with each other? A dizzying, terrifying, and hilarious roller coaster ride through the dangers and damages of girlhood – the teenage wasteland has perhaps never been laid so bare nor been so much twisted fun. And just in time for Halloween!
