Hi Amanda,

Yes, I am looking after Surrey/Whiterock for the foreseeable future. I moved from the VancouverRegion (Richmond/YVR) at the beginning of September and immediately encountered issues with

the Hemingway. The first report was from Cst. Barkase regarding minor in premise from July 26th. Irecommended enforcement action and they have signed a waiver for a monetary penalty of $5000. I

then received a report from Cst. Cheney for minor in premise from Sept. 7th . I recommendedenforcement action of a 10 day suspension which is currently pending. Both incidence resulted from

a lack of diligence with Door Staff so I conducted a compliance meeting on September 17th with theThird Party Operators (Joseph Richard group). The following commitments were signed: Propercontrol of patrons lined up outside the premise waiting to gain entry; sufficient number ofdoor/security staff who are fully engaged and aware of patrons trying to leave premise with liquor, fully engaged and aware of young looking patrons & checking 2 pieces of valid ID, ensure the ID is infact the person presenting it and that the d.o.b. is over 19. I also discussed that at no time shouldany staff member draw attention that police or inspectors are conducting a licensed premise check. Ihave also kept the actual owner Anthony Veltri apprised of this.

I appreciate all that RCMP members do in assisting our branch and will make sure that I give priorityto any incident report coming from police. As I am new to this region I would love to sit down withyou and other members for a meet and greet. I can best be reached at (604)862-4231.

Look forward to hearing from you

Doug

Hi Amanda,

Thanks again for all of your support and coordination of members for this project. I would also like tothank all the members that participated over the summer months to this interagency operation.

Liquor Control and Licensing Branch appreciates the cooperative approach the RCMP demonstrateswhen working with other government agencies and I look forward to our continuing partnership.

I wanted to let you know that we now have a dedicated Liquor Inspector Doug DYCK for White Rock. There has been enforcement action initiated through a police Licensed Premise Check complaintabout Minors on premise at the Hemmingway. This resulted in the establishment being fined

$5,000. Currently, there is another enforcement action initiated through a police Licensed PremiseCheck compliant about Minors on Premise. The Branch has recommended a 10 day suspension butthe enforcement is still outstanding.

Doug has several years of experience with Liquor Control and come to us from the Vancouver office. If you have any questions or have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask him. His direct lin

Hi,I just wanted to pass on a belated thanks for all your help with the extra enforcement over the summermonths.. It is amazing what a difference we experienced having you guys come down, be a presence andeducate the members and bar staff. Its quite obviously who has more clout with the liquor establishments..you guys!Just wondering how you found it on your end. Was there any formal enforcement taken, any followups withthe Hemmingway, have they been in contact with you guys at all?We had a few issues there this past weekend due to over service and assaults outside but I think Halloween isprobably just a gong show everywhere. If you have any suggestions or input for next year that would be great and if you are ever wanting to comeout to the area again please let us know and we'd be glad to join you. Thanks again,Amanda
