British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course 2018-19 with Michaela Palmer www.deeperintoyoga.com “The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.” T. K. V. Desikachar The Yoga Foundation Course This course is run nationally (in England, Scotland and Wales) and is suitable for anyone who wishes to develop their personal practice of Yoga and widen their experience. It is an ideal preparation for those who may wish to train as yoga teachers in the future, and equally suitable for those who pursue Yoga as a means of self-enquiry and do not wish to teach. The foundation course provides a comprehensive grounding in basic practical techniques taught in the context of the philosophy that underpins Yoga. Movement limitations do not necessarily prevent you from successfully completing the course. Award given: The award received at the end of this course is the British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course 1 Certificate of Attendance. To be awarded this certificate, you need to attend at least 80% of the course, e.g. 8 out of the 10 planned teaching days. Course prerequisites: o A minimum of two years’ class attendance with a suitably qualified and experienced yoga teacher. o Course participants have to be members of the British Wheel of Yoga (you can join at: http://www.bwy.org.uk). Welcome Thank you for your enquiry about my British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course starting in September 2018 in Bristol. If you wish to learn more about Yoga, its rich history and philosophy, as well as taking your personal practice beyond the constraints of a weekly yoga class, then the Foundation course is a brilliant choice. My own Yoga practice has developed over many years; having practiced Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga previously I have become a student of Paul Harvey. My Hatha classes are dynamic and energizing, with the breath being a core element. Please feel free to get in touch with me at [email protected], if you need further information or want to discuss the course. Namaste.
