PelGar International produces it’s own actives which are synthesised in the European Union and all have a European Registration Dossier. Besides producing finished rodenticide baits PelGar International also supplies manufacturingconcentrate at 2.5% and 0.25% to the industry.

PelGar’s actives are the most widely used anticoagulants used in rodenticides. Each has a different level of toxicity to mice, rats and non-target animals such as birds and dogs. PelGar International’s actives are :-BROMADIOLONEDIFENACOUMBRODIFACOUM

Anticoagulants are the most effective rodenticide baits onthe market. They work by preventing the assimilation ofvitamin K1, one of 12 ‘blood clotting factors’ withinvertebrates. Once a lethal dose of poison has been eaten by the rodent, there is a lag period while the existing vitamin K1 in the body is used up. This normally takes three to four days, after which the blood will no longer be able to clot and any haemorrhaging inside the body will lead to death.

The great advantage of the lag period is that rodents neverassociate the bait they have eaten with the symptoms ofpoisoning they go through. This means it is possible to attain 100% control of the population as the rodents will continue to feed on the bait, ignorant of the fact it is killing them.

HOW MUCH FINISHED BAIT FORMULATED AT 50PPM IS NEEDED TO KILL RATS AND MICE?

Difenacoum is very effective against mice and has a good level of activity against rats. It also has a good profile being the least toxic to non-target animals such as dogs, pigs and birds.

Difenacoum will always be the product of choice where mice are the main problem or where there may be risk of secondary poisoning. Bromadiolone is considerably less effective than difenacoum against mice, but has slightly higher activity against rats. Brodifacoum is much more toxic to both target and non-target animals than difenacoum or bromadiolone and is particularly potent against dogs, pigs and rabbits.

PELGAR PROFESSIONALRAT & MOUSE STATIONThe PelGar Rat Station, made in the UK, has been designed and manufactured to give the best functionality to you at the most competitive price. The station is hinged on the right hand side which allows for full opening while the bait station is in place. The station has also been designed with rodent behaviour in mind. It has a textured ‘non-slip’ floor which gives it a more natural feel, full width openings for easy access with just a small lip to prevent water entry, and drainage holes in the floor for when the weather conditions get particularly adverse.

When it comes to placing bait the station is very versatile. Two bait reservoirs either side of the station each comfortably hold 100g of grain or pellet bait, while the horizontal bar can be added to secure blocks and pasta/paste bait. The station will also safely house a ‘break-back’ trap with two location clips in the centre of the sta-tion, and a hole on the other side allows the trap to be set with a cable-tie without opening the box.

The PelGar Mouse Station has been designed for the professional pest controller and is packed full of features.

Within the Mouse Station you can use a variety of different bait formulations, this will allow you to tailor your rodent control program for maximum effectiveness. The two bait reservoirs either side of the station have been sized to hold either 20g or 28g blocks, or alternatively loose bait such as grain or pellets.

As well as the optional wall bracket which the station clips onto, there are also two holes in the lid through which a cable tie can be threaded to affix the station to pipes

or other wall fixings. Over the past 12 months we have seen the trend within the industry for baits to be secured even further within mouse stations. Therefore we are able to offer an additional horizontal rod which allows further bait security within the station.

The PelGar Stations begin and finish their life in an environmentally friendly way, it’s made from recycled plastic and is also fully recyclable in normal household waste.
