Welcome to the city of Cusco, the spiritual center and ancient capital of the Incas. Cusco was called “the navel of the world” as it was the center of the four corners of the Tawantinsuyo Empire.
ITINERARY
QorikanchaWe will start our tour visiting the Qorikancha or Golden Temple, considered the Incas’ most important religious center.
Inca streets and temples + CathedralNext we will visit the impressive city of Cusco, built on top of the foundations of Inca palaces. We will visit the Plaza de Armas and the Cusco Cathedral and enjoy its beautiful architecture and colonial paintings.
Nearby archaeological centersLater on we will board a bus to visit the archaeological centers near the city. We will stop at the San Cristobal lookout where we will enjoy a panoramic sight of Cusco. Next we will visit Sacsayhuaman. We will see its impressive stone buildings and hear about the construction techniques used by the Incas. We will continue our journey through the ceremonial centers of Q´enqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay.
