Safety Heating Appliances

In future we plan to extend the tests to the following product categories:

•large appliances like refrigerators, washing machine …etc.

•Luminaries

•Lamps

•Plug & sockets

•Cables

Since 2008, the Laboratories and Standardization Affairs start to set up new electrical lab for testing household electrical heating appliances. By 2012 the lab is well equipped & ready to start the tests.

The electrical laboratory striving to ensure the safety and quality requirements according to IEC & national standards which facilitates the consumer to choose the appliances which comply with the standards and discard the others.

Today the services offered in respect of testing safety requirements of household

electrical appliances and has setup facilities to test suitability for use of the

following products.

• Electric Ovens

• Electric Iron

• Grills, Toaster

•Room heaters

• water heater

•Kettle

•Deep Fry pan

The Laboratory comply with

IEC 60335 -1 and its particular for the tests and is equipped with the latest

test equipments from USA, UK, Germany & Japan.

The Laboratory enable us to cover the tests such as:

Protection against access to live parts Power input and current Heating Leakage current and electric strengthMechanical strengthDrop Test for IronSupply connection and external flexible cordsProvision for earthingClearance and creepage distanceResistance to heat & fire
