About the Conference
Industrial and technological innovations are imperative for economic growth. These have been regarded as the major fundamental for the Nation's progress. With the advent of industrialization and urbanization, issues of environmental pollution have increased with its severe downside problems. Environmental monitoring is prerequisite for understanding functioning of our ecosystem and its management. To prevent adverse effects of pollution and to safeguard regulations, the scope of environmental monitoring is rapidly increasing. Instrumentation and analytical techniques is the base for environmental monitoring on which regulations and policies for pollution control depends. The conference aims to bring researchers, engineers, academicians, scholars and industry professionals of matching interests on a common platform to share new ideas, experiences and knowledge in the fields of Environmental Monitoring Techniques, their role in the Assessment of Pollution and Management.
Themes and Topics of conference
I Monitoring and Instrumentation Techniques in Air Quality Management • Advance techniques in air pollution monitoring and
control.• Role of instrumentation in dust dispersion modeling.• Odour monitoring and analytical techniques in
environmental samples.• Advances in sampling and analysis of indoor air pollution.
II Monitoring and Instrumentation Techniques in Water Quality Management• Monitoring and assessment of marine pollution.• Role of instrumentation in assessment of municipal waste
water of after monitoring.• Advance instrumentation techniques for monitoring
drinking water quality.
III Monitoring and Instrumentation Techniques in Soil Pollution Control and Solid Waste Management• Instrumentation techniques in geophysical - chemical

About SIES- IIEM
South Indian Education Society's Indian Institute of Environment Management was established in 1999 at the SIES campus in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. Since its foundation, IIEM has been an active proponent of knowledge based research and development to address upstream concerns on conservation of natural resources and protection of environment. IIEM took up challenging issues in the areas of sustainable management of hazardous waste and drinking water; anaerobic biotechnology, development of biosurfactants, biofertilizers, eco- restoration of natural resources etc. These research projects were supported with funding from DST, DBT, IGMR, MoEF and MMRIES and Wetlands International South Asia & Loktak Development Authority and ICMR. SIES - IIEM has conducted several national conferences and seminars on different aspects of environmental sciences and management. Also, several tailor made training programmes for different sectors have been conducted from time to time. SIES IIEM has been expanding the canvas of its research and academics activities and successfully established interface with society.

At present 8 undergraduate courses and 4 postgraduate courses are being offered in addition to Junior College. The college prides itself in the fact that it is recognized as the best college of Navi Mumbai. The M.Sc. Environmental Science Department was established in 2006 with an intent to create a cadre of professionals with technical knowledge about environmental aspects, who can apply best management practices to create innovative solutions for better environment. The students passed out from the course are doing very well in various sectors like renewable energy, wastewater treatment, carbon market, sustainability, etc. and serving organisations like General Carbon, GAIL India, ENVIS Centre, Mars Inc., etc.
About Chromatographic Society of India
Chromatographic Society of India was founded in the year 2000 at Chennai by a few people interested to propagate the education of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry. In the early days of the Society, the major focus was to bring in educational and training programs in the various chromatographic techniques. One of the major activities was to bring the recognized American Chemical Society (ACS) courses in capillary gas chromatography and HPLC to India. CSI has created informative website for the use of students and chemists in the academia and industry in many ways with objective to create a knowledge based website that contain the basic lessons of various chromatographic techniques, the applications of various techniques to different industrial applications, a site where people would be able to post some questions and those having the right answers can post it. CSI has conducted various conferences and trainings with objective to train researchers, academicians and students on recent trends in advance analytical techniques.
