Term 2 16 May 2019 Week 3
GEPS Breakfast Club Starting the day with food and friends!
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8:15am – 8:50am in the school library
Our Breakfast Club is run by the school and a gold coin donation is
appreciated.
Our students in Year 3 and 5 started NAPLAN this week –
National Assessment of Literacy and Numeracy. All
assessments are completed online except for the Year 3
Writing which is still a pencil and paper test. This will be the
third year that we have been completing NAPLAN online at
our school so the process is not new to us. We design our
assessment timetable so that students are in smaller groups
of approximately twelve and are able to complete their work
in a supportive and encouraging environment.
I would like to thank the wonderful volunteers who ran our
Mothers’ Day Stall last week. A special thank you to
Bunnings who very kindly donated the beautiful flowers and
pots for the students to purchase.
This afternoon our Operation Art Gallery will be open in the
hall from 3.30 till 4.45pm as well as plenty of delicious things
to buy from the Cake Stall. The quality of the artwork created
by the students is wonderful and teachers and children
should be commended. I’m hoping to be able to buy a few
pieces for my office. I might have to put my bid in early!
Hard to believe but it is time for us to start planning for
Kindergarten 2020! If you have a child who will be starting
Kindergarten in 2020, please contact the office for an
enrolment form. If you know of a friend or neighbour who
will be enrolling their child here next year, please let them
know that we would be delighted to assist them with the
enrolment process.
Have a great week Charmian Cribb

Here at Goulburn East we have 4 values
Respect Tolerant Considerate Safe
Since returning from holidays the school has been focusing on the school value of Respect. We
are looking for students who display respect to teachers and fellow classmates. That may be by
listening carefully to instructions, helping someone who needs assistance or by listening to and
caring for others. Teachers select students and a card is given. There were over 100 names in
the box and the 5 winners were drawn at our school assembly.
GEPS Breakfast Club Starting the day with food and friends!

This is 1F making marshmallow and spaghetti towers as part of their
