6 From the Clock Tower go past the church to the Bull Ring, and then take the road on the right towards the Priory ruins. Keep to the road when it turns right, ignoring other footpaths. At Downs Mill go into the driveway, and then straight on. If you have a dog with you, make sure that it’s on the lead. Pass to the right of the house and over the bridge. Take the diagonal path across field to the kissing-gate, then along the left hand side of the field, next to the hedge. When you reach Wyke Rd. , turn left for 250m, and then take the footpath to the left, just before you reach the main road. Follow the old railway track, and keep right at the fork, where the left turn goes to the Shropshire Way and Jack Mytton Way. Walk for 400m along the old railway track, ignoring metal steps to both sides. At the end of the track follow the path up a ramp to the right. Turn left towards the entrance gate, pass through it and go past the Station House garden. Turn left through a gap down a path between two fences. Continue on this path downhill to the kissing-gate opposite the Priory, and turn right back into town. Brookes Walk Follow the RED markers for 4km. Nearest car park at TF13 6PG see also p12-13.
