From the Clock Tower go past thechurch to the Bull Ring, and thentake the road on the righttowards the Priory ruins. Keep tothe road when it turns right,ignoring other footpaths. ➊At Downs Mill go into thedriveway, and then straight on. Ifyou have a dog with you, makesure that it’s on the lead. Pass tothe right of the house and overthe bridge. ➋Take the diagonal path acrossfield to the kissing-gate, thenalong the left hand side of thefield, next to the hedge. Whenyou reach Wyke Rd. ➌, turn leftfor 250m, and then take thefootpath to the left, just beforeyou reach the main road. ➍Follow the old railway track, andkeep right at the fork, where theleft turn goes to the ShropshireWay and Jack Mytton Way. ➎
Walk for 400m along the oldrailway track, ignoring metalsteps to both sides. At the end ofthe track follow the path up aramp to the right. Turn lefttowards the entrance gate, passthrough it and go past theStation House garden. Turn leftthrough a gap down a pathbetween two fences. ➏Continue on this path downhill tothe kissing-gate opposite the Priory,and turn right back into town.
