Department Of Mechanical Engineering: The Department offers academic programmes leading to B.E. from CSVTU Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. The Mechanical Engineering Dept is one of the largest in terms of departmental faculty at KIT, students, and activities, continues to lead and expand its activities in various directions. The Department is known for research and projects in Robotics, Automobiles, fracture mechanics, I. C. Engines, Combustion, CFD, CAD-CAM and other areas. Experimental and computational facilities are being continuously upgraded. Industry interaction has been increased with Industrial training and summer courses. The faculty members are grouped under three broad specializations - Design, Manufacturing and Thermal & Fluids Engineering. They have been engaged in research in all the classical areas of Mechanical Engineering and upcoming areas too. The academic activities are supported by laboratories and high end computing facilities with NKN internet connectivity. The Department has decided recently to focus major research efforts in the following four areas: Computational Mechanics, Biomechanics, Intelligent Systems and Mechatronics and published more than 100 of research papers in reputed international journals along with participating in more than 30 international conferences too .The faculty has been active for pursuing consultancy services to industries.
