17/01795/FUL Applicant: Mr and Mrs Willars Location: 7 Fretter Close, Broughton Astley, Leicestershire Proposal: Demolition of existing garage and construction of a two storey side extension and detached garage RESOLVED: The Committee Members object to this planning application for the following reasons:

1. These are 3 storey houses with very small front gardens and minimum open space. The proposed garage would have a detrimental impact on the street scene. A garage of this size and height would obstruct the line of view from number 10, on a street which is already very densely enclosed. Number 8 will also be compromised having two windows at ground level.

2. Number 8 has 2 side windows which, at the moment, look out onto the existing brick wall. The extension will bring the brick wall much closer and will impact on space and light.

The Parish Council would like to request that Harborough District Council carry out a site visit before making their decision. 17/01830/PCD Applicant: Jelson Limited Location: Land East of Broughton Way, Broughton Astley, Leicestershire Proposal: Discharge of Condition 2 (materials) RESOLVED: Committee Members noted the Discharge of Condition 2. 17/01876/ADV Applicant: Everards Brewery Location: Bulls Head Inn, 2 Main Street, Broughton Astley, Leicestershire Proposal: Installation of replacement signage including 3 fascia signs, 1 hanging sign, 3 hoardings and lighting RESOLVED: Committee Members had no objections to the proposed installation of replacement signage. 17/01889/FUL Applicant: Mr Colin Baldwin Location: 3 Chestnut Close, Broughton Astley, Leicestershire Proposal: Erection of a first floor side extension and alterations to front and rear fenestrations and roof RESOLVED: Committee Members noted the objection from 2 Chestnut Close but felt, as the proposed building plans are on the existing footprint and materials matched existing, that this would have no impact on the street scene or neighbours.

The meeting closed at 8.10pm. DATE OF NEXT PLANNING AND LICENSING COMMITTEE MEETING 4 December 2017 at 7.30pm, in the Astley Room.
