BROCHUREDescription: A two sided (duplex) folding brochure.Program: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign.Date Completed: March 25th, 2016Course: Comm 130 Section 04Instructor: Lindsey LeFevreObjective(s): Set up and align a two-sided, folded document. Create an original, new logo and use it in a brochure.Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): This was the perfect type of project for me personally. I was able to fully put to use all of the aspects that I have learned over these past few months. I first went into Adobe Illustrator, and created a new logo, wanting something unique but professional. After that, I cut out images in Adobe Photoshop, and placed all of those into an InDesign document. After styling and adding text, my brochure for a fictional club was complete.

LOGODescription: A two sided (duplex) folding brochure.Program: Adobe Illustrator.Date Completed: February 20th, 2016Course: Comm 130 Section 04Instructor: Lindsey LeFevreObjectives: Use Illustrator to create three completely different, original logos to fit a company or personal image that will appeal to the audience.Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): Creating this logo was an interesting project for me. I wanted to keep things simple, and professional (see any patterns in my work/processes yet?), so I went with a text based logo. I relied on fonts to bring out the character in the styling of it. I designed this logo in Adobe Illustrator.

WEB PAGEDescription: A website designed to showcase a personally designed logo.Program: TextwranglerDate Completed: March 12th, 2016Course: Comm 130 Section 04Instructor: Lindsey LeFevreObjective(s): Gain a knowledge of HTML and CSS and build a basic but functional single page web site.Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): Building websites is what I actually am aiming to do for a career, so this was probably the most fun projects that I did in this class. It allowed me to create a basic web page. It also let me continue to practice my website developing skills. I used Textwrangler, a mac program, to edit my HTML and CSS and that made things very easy to accomplish.

STATIONERYDescription: A stationery created with a professional looking logo.Program: Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.Date Completed: February 27h, 2016Course: Comm 130 Section 04Instructor: Lindsey LeFevreObjective(s): Use the basic tools in Illustrator & InDesign to create a new logo to fit a company or personal image and include it in a letterhead.Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): For this stationery, I wanted to still maintain the simple aspect in most of my other work, but I also wanted it to look like this law company would be able to maintain the inflow of customers and patients needing lawyers. I repeated design elements like the logo, and also the diamond pattern that I created. This gave it great flow and gestalt.

I used the same repetitions using the diamonds, and included a way to contact the company using either the address or the phone number, ensuring that if they needed to call a lawyer, they could.

PHOTODESIGNDescription: Demonstrating photography skills and choosing a color scheme.Program: Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign.Date Completed: February 6th, 2016Course: Comm 130 Section 04Instructor: Lindsey LeFevreObjective(s): Use a digital camera to take a quality image, then choose a color scheme and then incorporate the colors into the layout.Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): This project was very useful in creating tasteful photos. I first created a color scheme of monochromatic blue, then took a picture that would resemble the blue monochromatic color scheme that I chose. I then scaled down the tree and colored it to resemble the color scheme I chose. I tried to make it look as natural as possible, keeping the design simple. O

MONTAGEDescription: A photo project that demonstrated the ability to montage multiple pictures into one. Program: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.Date Completed: February 13th, 2016Course: Comm 130 Section 04Instructor: Lindsey LeFevreObjective(s): Unify a layout with a consistent theme and spiritual message and blend two or more images together gradually, using masksProcess (Programs, Tools, Skills): This montage was a great way for me to be able to demonstrate my Photoshop abilities. I decided to take a photograph and blend it into a different image. I needed to make it have a spiritual theme, so I chose to have a man falling into the water much like when Peter was walking out to Jesus on the Sea of Galilee. This way it will be able to demonstrate and complete both qualifications, and in a very subtle way.

EVENT ADDescription: A project to demonstrate the ability to use only Microsoft word and a high quality scanner to create a full bleed, color event ad for a charity. Program: Microsoft WordDate Completed: January 30th, 2016Course: Comm 130 Section 04Instructor: Lindsey LeFevreObjective(s): Learn to use only Word design features without using any Adobe programs, including Photoshop.Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): This was actually a pretty challenging project. It was difficult because I needed to create a visually appealing design, but that I needed to only be able to do it on word. I was used to designing things on InDesign and Photoshop,, and so it was hard to compensate for the lack of features. Overall I ended up blending a puzzle on top of a picture and matching the color of the skin tone on the boy..
