NOTE: In first year, BSc students take a maximum of 30 credit hours over the Fall and Winter terms. Students may choose to register in fewer courses depending on anticipated academic workload and other commitments (but please check any scholarship or student loan conditions).

BSc students are encouraged to take at least 12 credit hours (6 courses) of science and math courses in their first year. All BSc students must complete a minimum of 6 credit hours in MATH/STAT during their degree programs.

BSc students must take an approved writing course. We recommend that you take a writing course in first year, if possible, as enhanced writing skills will help you succeed in your other courses. Students in a BSc program may fulfill the writing requirement by choosing 6 credit hours in the same subject from the list below or by taking Science 1111.03.
