BsecB is the anti-terrorist and anti-criminal insitu concrete barrierto protect sensitive buildings andinfrastructure. It is a long term permanentperimeter physical security solution.Combined with a security fence it is asingle defensive line rather than

two separate fencing lines, savingvaluable space, protectinginfrastructure assets from peacefulprotest to terrorist threats. The barrierhas been specifically designed to meet the security impact standards of PAS 68.

PAS 68 the industry standard for vehicle impact testingPAS 68 is the impact test specification for vehicle security barriers. Itdefines vehicle type, speed, angle of impact and provides an impactrating for a vehicle security barrier when subjected to a single impact.

BBS has subjected BsecB to a series of impact tests in accordance withPAS 68 at the UK’s Transport Research Laboratory (TRL).

Construction MethodsBsecB is constructed either using slipform concrete paving equipment or traditional fixed formwork.

BsecB has originally been designedto be slipformed making it anextremely cost efficient system toconstruct. Within this mechanisedpaving construction methodstandard supply trucks feed readymixed concrete into the slipformpaving machine. The high

performance, computer controlledmachines consolidate and shape thematerial into the specific profile ofthe BsecB system incorporatingreinforcement as required. Thisconstruction method provides highproductivity and is ideal forprotecting long perimeters.

Traditional Fixed Formwork

For shorter lengths the traditional fixed formwork is applied comprising a systemof modular steel shutters. This system is quick to install, strip and relocate. It isset and fixed to accurate tolerances and provides a first class finish.
