MINERVA PARK CIVIC ASSOCIATION

Activities Questionaire

Your civic association wants to get a response from our residents concerning the role you would like the civic association to fill . Take a few minute s to read the questions - then fill it out and return to the VILLAGER.

The civic association sponsers the annual garage sale and caroling at Christmas. It was one of the sponsers of the l ake clean up and contributed to the 4th of July events. A free concert series was organized for a summer event. How would you like to see these events handled in the future? (cancelled, changed, expanded, etc.)

Are there any other events that the civic association could sponser?

Would you come to c1v1c association meetings if there were speakers? What subjects would you be interested in?

Are you opposed to the c1v1c association taking political stands? ( i . e . tax levy on schools or for the village)

Do you have time to give to our community or is all your time consumed by job(s), caring for children and home , school and church activities?

The c1v1c association pays for the printing of the VILLAGER. Should this be continued? How can the VILLAGER be improved?

We would hope that you would take the time to think about the above questio~. As we start off a new year with new officers and board members, we need to know if the civic association is still needed in our community and what direction it should take.

Any additional comments: ------------------------------------------------

Please return to the VILLAGER, 3201 Minerva Lake Road, Columbus 43229

All members present except Mr. Yoakum.

Minutes of the l ast meeting were approved.

There was a request by Ray Beougher to have the fire and police reports for the village publishedin the VILLAGER. The Law Director will discuss this with the Safety Chairman, Larry Yoakum, to see i f this is possible.

COMMUNITY REPORTS Community -Ms. Wohlfarth reported that there is still a problem with the water in the creek due to run off and rain, and the problem is still being looked at. Someone on Ponderosa Drive called to say that their household water was discolored and had an odor to it. This will be looked into. Ms. Wohlfarth wished to thank the 4th of July Committee who worked so hard to organize the parade - Lynn Eisentrout, Linda Best, Kathy Ros ati , Cathy Moore, and Casey King. Streets - Bids to seal streets have been received on Lakewood Road and Court, Maplewood, Alder Vista, Briar Rose,Jordan Road, and Minerva Lake Road West. Some spots have to be patched before the seal is put on. Not all streets may be done, depending on funds available . Wildwood and West Bridge will be looked at. There are bumps where water breaks were fixe d. The City of Columbus will be contacted to get this work done. Service - Spraying for mosquitos was done on June 17th. It will be done again, but date unknown. There was a water break on Alder Vista in June and was finally fixed (broke two times in the same spot). Safety - Squad runs for June totaled 138, 5 runs in the park (2 of which were fire runs. Of all the runs for the year 6.5% were in the park, 30.6% were in the township, 34.6% were in \~esterville, and 28% were in Columbus. The police report for June showed no major crime. Finance - The bills were approved for payment. The Tax Budget for 1988 (Resolution 87-8) needs to be submitted before 7-20-87. The required three readings of a resolut ion was waived. Resolution 87-9 to amend Res. 87-01 was presented to transfer certain funds in the general fund to other funds. The required three readings was waived . The resolution passed .

L~islative- an ordinance was presented on 6-8-87 regarding yard sales. It was presented for a second re~ng tonight. Residents will be allowed three(3) garage sales per year with each sale l asting up to two(2) days . A $1 permit would be required. The Civic Association annual garage sale would be exempted The third and final reading of the ordinance will be in September. A resolution will be passed at the September meeting naming Joe Marcum to be the electrical inspector; and Bob Pitts the plumbing inspector .

Planning and Zoning Commission A sign permit was submitted by Flowers Unlimited for a wall sign which would require a variance. The commission recommended passage. Passed. Variance granted. Another sign application was submitted by Joe Anderson for the shopping center on Cleveland Avenue. It would require a variance to cover size, height, and set back. Variance passed depending on Mr. Anderson submitting a revised drawing and meeting conditions stated in a letter dated July 12th addressed to him.

With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned .
