BUDDHISM.
Buddhism was founded in India inside the culture of Hinduism and like Hinduism it question the existence of other worlds. It has spread far and has many followers.
BELIEFS.
The main belief in Buddhism is to be kind to others and good things will happen to you . Meditating also brings good “vibes” or energy to you and your family.
ORIGINAL PRACTICE
The basic belief for the people of this religion is to meditate every day and reach enlightenment also referred to as nirvana.
This is a state of constant happiness with no pain or suffering. Which is different from other religions concepts of an afterlife.
They also believed in the four noble truths and The wheel of Dharma.

Practiced with meditation, chanting, teaching of life, rebirth, and release
Main beliefs were lives of celibacy. They valued family. They turned toward decentralized congregational worship within a loose doctrinal framework
Intellectual, spiritual, and artistic life Questioned the reality of the earthly
world and speculated on the existence of other worlds.
TURNING POINTS.Buddhism has many turning
points. There is so many because Buddhism is spread far across the world. The way Buddhism is practiced or its beliefs depend on where in the world you are. If Buddhism didn’t spread it might not have become so popular and survived. Buddhism survived because as some countries lost interest in it, it instantly spread to another.
TURNING POINTS
Buddhism was powerful in China until political and military defeats caused its downfall. It then spread to Tibet and a new form was created vajrayana or tantric Buddhism which had scriptures involving magic rituals. Buddhism also spread to Japan from China and the religion united Japan.
THE SPREAD OF BUDDHISM
CHANGES
All the spreading caused major changes in the religion and caused unity in some countries or war and strife in others.
Some countries added mystical elements to the religion others kept it the same.
Almost every country that adopted the religion added its own personal touch.
WHY?
Was used to find peace and escape pain.
To get to a level of Nirvana- a kind of blissful nothingness.
Taught of life rebirth and release were constant with Hindu concepts of Maya, samsata, and moksha.
MODERN DAY BUDDHISM
Buddhism is no longer an educational system it’s a religion
Buddhism has changed a lot in ways of not being only one branch of Buddhism but many.
In some Buddhist countries there are different versions of Buddha.
WOULD THE BUDDHA RECOGNIZE IT? No. Buddhism has changed a lot in ways of not
being only one branch of Buddhism but many and it has many idols implanted in it
Buddha didn’t want people to pray to him because he could not hear them he was not a god
Now people do, they bow down and pray to him as if he was.
