Three Distinctive Design Series

WP-Series: Wide Profile Entry Door

2) WP-Series - Wide Profile Divided Lite “TDL” Entry Door Features:

GlassCraft’s beautiful “Wide Profile” divided lite doors offer a unique and modern look of simplicity and style. This series of doors offers 5 glass textures utilizing “IG” or insulated glass for energy savings. Similar to the WI-Series, the WP-Series also features GlassCraft’s exclusive integrated sloped sill and weep hole system built into the glass panel and glass panel design to allow rain water to drain to the exterior, away from the door and glass frame.

The Wide Profile Series features the same wide stiles and rails in the door design as is used in the Wrought Iron Series and the same door jamb and frame system. The glass panel is not operable, meaning that it does not open and close. All 6 finish colors are available in the WP-Series.

NP-Series: Narrow Profile Entry Door

1) NP-Series - Narrow Profile Divided Lite “TDL” Entry Door Features:

The Buffalo Forge Steel NP-Series doors offer a sleek and contemporay appearance, and feature real TDL or true divided lite design and construction with four individual glass panels in each door. The glass panels are double thickness insulated panels utilizing certified tempered safety glass and a unique design to prevent leaks and ensure an efficient, air-tight fit. “TDL” refers to “true divided lite” which means that each glass panel or “lite” are individual pieces as opposed to “SDL” or “simulated divided lite” doors which use one large glass piece. All doors are 36” wide x 8 feet tall.

These doors feature very narrow stiles and rails, but all door slab parts are welded steel for strength.

This series of doors offers 5 glass textures, each of which utilizes double thickness “IG” or insulated glass. All 6 finish colors are available in the NP-Series.

WI-Series - Wrought Iron Entry Door

3) WI-Series - Wrought Iron Entry Door Features:

The WI-Series of Wrought Iron grille and steel doors feature operable glass panels that are easy to clean, energy efficient, and engineered to provide protection for your home. GlassCraft’s exclusive designs include an integrated sloped sill and weep hole system built into the glass panel and wrought iron design to allow rain water to drain to the exterior, away from the door and glass frame.

Open the glass panels to easily clean the glass behind the decorative wrought iron designs. The inner glass door uses compression weather-stripping to securely seal the operating glass frame.

In addition, the WI-Series features a unique “raised molding” appearance to give greater depth and detail to the exterior view of your door. The wrought iron grille is not attached directly onto the door, but is welded onto a detailed border frame which extends beyond the front plane of the door. This construction method offers added strength and beauty.....a unique design benefit only from GlassCraft!

Sill & Hinge Options

Construction Doors Available

All standard Buffalo Forge entryways are available with an optional “construction” door or doors fitted to the steel jamb system. These construction doors are solid... not hollow, and will last for the entire construction period of your home. They are meant to be discarded at the end of the construction process. These construction doors utilize hinges mounted to fit the permanent Buffalo Forge hinge system shown here. Normal lock set hardware can be used with these construction doors.

Bronze & Stainless Steel Hinges

All Buffalo Forge entryways use multi-piece decorative and strong cast bronze hinges with stainless steel hinge pins. Two of these beautiful cast hinges are used on each door slab to keep your entryway operating smoothly for years to come. Other metal doors use low quality simple “pin” hinges that are completely unattractive and will rust and cause problems soon after installation. Buffalo Forge hinges offer the strength, security, and durability that is required for an entryway of this size and weight.

Optional ADA threshold with bronze finish is available.

Standard Endura brand threshold is available in dark bronze finish and includes a removeable hard protective construc-tion cover.

Endura Z-Series Sill System as standard Buffalo Forge entryways use “Endura” brand solid adjustable composite sills which provide many benefits over wood or hollow aluminum sills - thresholds. These composite sills help prevent problems like water penetration under the threshold, rotting, warping, and discoloration. The Endura Z-Series Sill System provides a walnut colored sill cap, the adjustable feature, and a hard plastic protective construction cover. The “adjustable” feature allows the top of the sill to be adjusted with a screwdriver to match the correct height required for the bottom of the door. As all Buffalo Forge doors are prefinished in a dark color, all units incorporate a Dark Bronze Aluminum threshold. (Other steel door brands utilize a one-piece hollow aluminum threshold. These will dent with use over time, and potentially allow water penetration under the threshold).

Optional ADA Threshold (no added cost) Optionally, you may select the ADA threshold. The ADA threshold is approved for use with wheelchairs. ADA sills are 5” x 1/2” or 7” x 1/2” depending upon the width of the door jamb ordered. This option does not guarantee that the door unit will meet all ADA requirements; please check with your local building inspectors to confirm ADA compliance. This is a “no extra charge” option.

Choose from five different glass texture options to complement your Buffalo Forge wrought iron and steel entry doors. All glass textures shown here are pro-duced using a double IG (insulat-ed glass) unit to provide safety, security and energy efficiency. The capacity to see through the glass panel varies depending upon the glass texture chosen. Ice Flower and Reeds glass options offer a moderate level of obscured view. Rain and Ocean give the highest level of privacy.

Buffalo Forge Finish Color Options

NOTE: The photos of the finish colors shown on this page and throughout this catalog offer an indication of the final appearance. Due to the hand finish process, color of actual finished doors may vary from the finish samples in this catalog.

Each Buffalo Forge unit is powder coated to provide the highest level of protection from environmental extremes and to protect the handmade wrought iron for years of use and enjoyment. These paint finishes will vary due to the nature of the hand-applied paint process. The faux finish is protected from the wear and tear of daily use with a clear coat of lacquer that provides an extra layer of protection.

The three “satin” colors have a flat metal character, while the three “antique” colors utilize a hand-applied faux finish stippled effect.

Drop Forged Solid Brass Door Hardware and Threshold Options

All Buffalo Forge doors are 1.5 inches thick and can use standard door lockset hardware specifically made to work with this door thickness. (Hardware for WI-Series should NOT have a “lever” handle on the inside, as this will not allow the glass panel to open). The doors are pre-bored with a 2-3/4 inch backset for a handleset and a dead bolt. They are produced using the traditional drop-forged process using solid brass castings and made with heavy gauge construction, precision engineered mechanism, and superior corrosion protection. All use a standard 5 pin SC1 Keyway. Wide bow keys are pro-vided. The “Dummy” sets can be used on inactive double door installations to match the one-point locksets on the active door. GlassCraft mounts a “spacer plate” behind the hardware to fit these 1.5 inch thick doors.

The locksets shown below are standard “one-point” traditional locksets and may be used for right-hand or left-hand door swings. All hardware necessary is included. Installation into the door slab is included in the pricing of these one-point lock sets. Sizes shown below in inches. Refer to Page 58 for more guidelines in choosing the right handleset for a Buffalo Forge door.

Jamb Size Options

All Buffalo Forge entryways shown in this catalog are pre-hung as assembled door units. We offer two jamb sizes, 4-5/8˝ wide or 6-5/8˝ wide to fit most construction needs.

The jamb includes pre-drilled mounting holes for easy installation of the door unit into all framing types. A full set of installation instructions and a how-to video are provided with each Buffalo Forge unit and are also available to download from our website at www.glasscraft.com. If needed, you can use any standard brickmold and/or interior casing applications with the Buffalo Forge steel frame to fit seamlessly into your home’s construction and trim options.

If our standard frame size will not work, please call and talk to our custom order department to review custom jamb options for your home building or home remodeling project.

Right Hand or Left Hand opening In-Swing or Out-Swing

All standard Buffalo Forge door designs are available with In-swing or Out-swing doors and can be ordered as left-handed or right-handed units. Please refer to the chart on page 10 to specify the handing when placing your order. All doors on the handing guide are viewed from the exterior of the home. Door units may also be ordered with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessible thresholds.

• The Buffalo Forge NP-Series “narrow profile TDL” wrought iron doors are designed with fixed glass panels that are secured in place and will not open, but are replaceable when needed.

• Sleek and minimalist TDL bars create narrow sight lines for a clean modern design.

• Factory mounted dual flush bolts for maximum security while maintaining a clean look without the need for surface mounted hardware.

• Each unit is pre-assembled and installed into a test wall to ensure hassle-free onsite installation.

Custom Size

The Buffalo Forge product line can be customized to any size needed to fit your home project. Choose from any of the existing designs, or create your very own design.

Custom Configurations

GlassCraft can make a door to fit your requirements. If you need a large grand entryway or your door just needs to be a little smaller than one of our standard door sizes, we can build it to your perfect size. We can add sidelites or transoms to any one of our designs to continually expand the design possibilities for all of our Buffalo Forge entry doors.

Custom Orders

GlassCraft’s Buffalo Forge custom price is based on your door’s wrought iron design requirements and the size of the complete door unit. Please contact the custom order department or visit our Custom Design Center online to request a quote.

Any standard GlassCraft design built to a non-stock size is considered a full custom unit and will require the full custom lead-time. Our usual custom order lead-time is 8-10 weeks after final product drawings have been approved.

Our design team will take you step by step through the complete design and build process to make sure your new entry door fits seamlessly into your home and the design reflects your vision.
