Building an impact page
About this resourceEach year, local Healthwatch must produce an annual report by 30 June. This is a great opportunity for you to highlight the impact you have made and the issues that are important to your community. The statistics and figures you collate in your annual report can be displayed on your website to show the public exactly how much of a difference you have made to your local community.
How to build your own ‘Our impact’ pageHere we will show you how to build your own page and populate it with both blocks and image blocks. For an example of the finished page have a look at the Healthwatch England website: www.healthwatch.co.uk/our-impact
Create the page Content – Add content – page
o Add your title ‘Our impact’o Add text for your lead paragraph that helps explain what information is
on the pageo Press ‘Save’o Your page should look blank but have a blue box with your lead
paragraph in, similar to this:

Structure – Add image block Block description: Make this something obvious such as ‘impact page – our
annual report’ Image: Upload an image, add alt and title text and set the image style to ‘grid
image 50’ Block body: Include a bit of text about your annual report, as well as link
through to the report page where it is uploaded. Ideally as a ‘find out more’ button.
Region settings: Content top Show block on specific pages: Select ‘Only the listed pages’ – and include the
end part of the URL. For example only include the part of the URL in yellow – www.healthwatch.co.uk /our-impact

Go back to Structure – Blocks and find the block you have just created. Click ‘Configure block’ then scroll down to ‘Block theme’. From the drop-down list select ‘Text with image right’.
Adding key facts and figures blocks Structure – Add block Block description: Make this something obvious like ‘Our impact – our year in
numbers’ Block body: Add your title in Heading 2, such as ‘Our year in numbers 2020-21’ Region settings: Row 1 (grey) Custom theme: None Show block on specific pages: Select ‘only the listed pages’ – and include the
end part of the URL, For example only include the section in yellow: www.healthwatch.co.uk /our-impact
Add impact stats Structure – Add block Block description: Make this something obvious like ‘Our impact - Half width
stats – stat 1’ Block body: Add the number in Heading 2, then underneath include
information about what the figure is about. Region settings: Row 1 (grey) Custom theme: Impact stats – half width Show block on specific pages: Select ‘only the listed pages’ – and include the
end part of the URL, For example only include the section in yellow: www.healthwatch.co.uk /our-impact

To get two of these appearing side by side, you just need to follow the instructions above again. If you want four to appear, follow the instructions four times.
Adding twin column blocks for case studies Adding twin column blocks allows you to link to longer pieces of work you have carried out over the last year.
Structure – Add image block Block description: Make this something obvious like ‘Our impact – twin column
block 1’ Image: Upload an image, add alt and title text and set the image style to ‘grid
image 50’ Block body: Include a bit of text about your case study work, as well as link
through to the page of the news / blog article or report. Ideally as a ‘find out more’ button.
Region settings: Row 2 (white) Show block on specific pages: Select ‘Only the listed pages’ – and include the
end part of the URL. For example, only include the part of the URL in yellow – www.healthwatch.co.uk /our-impact
Go back to Structure – Blocks and find the block you have just created. Click ‘Configure block’ then scroll down to ‘Block theme’. From the drop-down list select ‘Two columns.
To add the second column simply follow these instructions a second time.

Adding a video block Structure – Add block Block description: Make this something obvious like ‘Our impact – video on the
impact we make’ Block body: Add the title ‘The impact we make’ in Heading 2, then press enter
o Click the green symbol in the toolbar, labelled embed media.
o If you have made a local video about your annual report embed the HTML code here. If not visit our video on our YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/7di6PpPUqpc
o When this loads in YouTube click on the ‘Share’ button underneath the video

o Click on embed
o Click copy in the bottom right hand corner
o Return to your website and click the green embed icon. Paste the code you have just copied here, and press save.
o Add your text underneath the embedded box.

Additional blocks - charts First you need to create the chart data.
Content – Add content - Chart Title: Here you’re titling what the chart data is about – this could be: ‘How many
people shared their experiences with Healthwatch each year’. Add the data: Here you need to ad the value and then the label. For example
the value would be a number and then the label could be the year. In the example below we have added two bits of data:
Press ‘Save’
Then you need to create the chart block Structure – Content – Add chart block Block description: Make this something obvious like ‘Chart – people who shared
their experiences with Healthwatch’ Select the chart data source: Select the title you have just created from the
drop down list. Chart display type: Column Region settings: Row 4 (white) Show block on specific pages: Select ‘only the listed pages’ – and include the
end part of the URL, For example only include the section in yellow: www.healthwatch.co.uk /our-impact

To create a second chart, follow the instructions again adding new chart data first, and then creating the chart block.
