The CFH recently secured a grant from the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration through (SAMHSA). This new funding will give the Center for Hope an opportunity to expand our service menu and the current nursery will be transformed. Moving into a new facility creates an opportunity to add services in the current nursery space as we move.

Our team will implement an evidenced-based program for parents called Nurturing

The Center for Hope (CFH) is ready to build its dream for a bigger and better nursery for the mothers and babies we serve. With your help, we can move forward with replacing an existing playground and enhance our child development center by creating an additional 1,000 square feet of space that can be used every day of the year.

This expansion will help us transition from our current room (limited to 360 square feet)

and create a freestanding environment where women and their children can learn, bond, and grow. We envision a safe and nurturing facility that offers adequate space for interactive play and plenty of room for naps and cuddling. A nursery will give our childcare team the space they need to create a comfortable and educational environment to provide classes, parenting skills, and age-appropriate activities for babies and toddlers who are in our care.

Program ExpansionParenting. This curriculum recognizes that correct parenting skills directly impact a child’s development if they feel confident in their parenting abilities and contributions to their children’s learning. By constructing a nursery, we will have the opportunity to transform our existing childcare space into a high impact observation room designed to focus on teaching and learning best practice parent/child bonding strategies.

The Center for Hope (CFH), a nationally recognized program operated by Community Bridges, Inc., opened its doors in January 2005 as a long-term residential treatment program where pregnant and postpartum women receive a full spectrum of therapeutic, educational, and vocational services in a protective environment designed for women by women. The women who come to the CFH are homeless, pregnant, 18 years or older, and experiencing a co-occurring substance abuse and mental health-related disorder. At full capacity, the program can serve 24 women and 32 children (24 infants and 8 toddlers).

Since opening our doors in 2005, 145 babies have been born substance free to mothers residing at the Center. More than 250 women have received support since our program opened. Additionally, over 100 families support each other through their participation in our continuing care program called ASPIRE.
