MISSION The mission of the Department of Revenue is to administer the
tax laws of the State of Georgia fairly and efficiently in order to promote public confidence and compliance, while
providing excellent customer service.

• The Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) was created
ALP is open to all DOR employees who apply and:
•Demonstrate a potential for future leadership positions
• Are a current, regular employee
•Have no formal disciplinary actions within the last 12 months
•Have an overall 3.0 “Successful Performer” rating on the most recent performance review
ALP is open to all DOR employees who apply and:
•Have a high school diploma or GED, with Bachelor’s degree is preferred
•Have submitted a completed application
•Completed the interview process
• Are selected for participation by the interview committee comprised of members of DOR leadership
• A completed application signed by their Division Director
• Two reference forms in sealed envelopes. One reference must be from their current supervisor and the other may be from anyone at DOR.
• A completed and signed State of Georgia employment application.
• Two essay questions based behavioral criteria
• Tier 1 – Open to Entry, Working, and Advanced level employees who aspire to become supervisors.
• Tier 2 – Open to Supervisor level employees who aspire to become managers.
• Tier 3 – Open to Manager level employees who aspire to become Directors or Assistant Directors.

• Designed to provide the Managers, Supervisors and Executive Leaders of DOR the opportunity to come together to interact with all of their colleagues.

This program is designed for newly appointed Supervisors and Managers
16 week series – Weekly meetings for 2 hours
This partnership is designed to help high school students at risk of not graduating or completing their high school education while gaining real-world job experience.
Program has been in place for 2 years and employs between 10 to 15 students.
Students currently work in our Taxpayer Services Division.
Team functions include:

Members include 1 to 3 employees from each division
Meetings are held monthly
Recognizes managers and employees who go above and beyond their normal job duties. For example:
taking on additional responsibilities
making improvements in the way service is delivered
using personal time and resources to serve our customers
Annual Rewards Recognition Ceremony
• Largest Toastmasters club in the state of Georgia
• Helps develop members into effective leaders and communicators
• Each division covers membership dues for team members who participate.
